22/09/20 - Reviewed by Sue Stevenson

Stevenage Branch - Communication should be improved
After an initial greeting call from Karen Newman, most of our house sale was delegated to her assistants. I feel Karen should supervise more closely. Her assistant asked me for various documents which, once Karen reviewed the request a few weeks later, turned out not to be required. I had wasted a lot of time trying to find them. Contracts were sent out for signature without an email /phone call first and the wrong commission was paid to the estate agents despite my making her assistant aware of the agreed rate.
The receptionists are so abrupt they are verging on impolite. I guess I must have made 4 phone calls to the office over an eight week period so not exactly bombarding them with calls. Each time I was made to feel that my call was an unwelcome intrusion in their busy day – isn’t it the receptionists’ job to answer calls from clients??
The sale went through successfully in the end but the experience was not a great one. I have to point out despite the shortcomings above, Karen’s assistant Rebecca is very polite.
