Words cannot express how bad my dealings with Nils were, despite a positive start it was a succession of ignored emails and telephone calls and promises to come back to me which stretched over 10 days, quite why he just didn’t say I’m too busy or didn’t want to deal with this I don’t know - worst customer service I’ve received in a long, long time - appalling

Failed to inform my solicitor that their client had withdrawn from the purchase of my property weeks ago. Only just found out after chasing, spending weeks with the property off the market thinking the purchase was still going ahead. Didn't even apologise. Unprofessional

I cannot recommend Chadwick Lawrence. They NEVER answer their phone, they don't really bother to reply to emails (when they occasionally do, it will be a one liner and won't address any of your questions). All they do is leave you in the dark about your property purchase.

Avoid Chadwick Lawrence at all costs.Poor or no communication at all. Would give them no stars at all. They did not offer a high quality legal service as they market. Frustrating to deal with, difficult to speak with and not helpful. They took too long and I felt overcharged. I don't feel like they were on my side and did not make a difference. Best to find a different firm. This review just echoes what other people have left. I won't be using them even if it was for free check the negative reviews left by other people on various review sites. They cause more stress and hassle. No communication and did not deliver what they set out and what you would expect. Shocking. I am disgraced by their awful service. I feel like they just wanted to take my money and run. I have an employment dispute with a University and instead of helping they have done the opposite. I would not recommend or use them again.

Disgustingly incompetent company which deserves to be struck off! My agent filed my stamp duty return incorrectly and misadvised me on the amount of stamp duty due. The Completion Department then failed to lodge the sale with Land Registry. The whole affair has been a complete mess. Its almost 2 years later Im still suffering as a result. When I tried to lodge a formal complaint I was threatened with costs for the work they didnt do in the first place. This has cost me a lot of time, money and major headaches. For your own sake please STAY AWAY!

appalling service, never answered the phone calls and emails. the worse decision ever . it was a very easy process but with them it took forever to convey a simple remortgage causing unnecessary delays with extra cost.
Zero stars for this so-called solicitors.

Do not use this firm- even if they are FREE. The solicitors do not even sound like solicitors, they sound like ‘lay’ people who know nothing of the law. They have non existent negotiating skills or communication skills- so will be useless when acting on your behalf against another party- you will be at a disadvantage. They also are young inexperienced solicitors who do not have any legal knowledge and will not be able to advise you on legal terms or explain anything to you. They don’t check any legal paperwork either so you will have to do all this checking by yourself.

Don’t use this company.

They will lie to cover up their mistakes as well. This firm is a cowboy firm and should be shut down.

Do not use this firm. If you do, you are jeopardising your house sale/purchase. They are cowboys. Unprofessional and inexperienced solicitors who don’t know what they are doing. You will be stressed out with the manner in which they handle things so badly. They really do not care and will tell lies to cover up mistakes.

What can I say? These cowboys need to be SHUT DOWN immediately. I am FUMING. I was allocated this cowboy law firm through the dodgy SAM CONVEYANCING who you must avoid at all costs. Their manager Andrew Boast is a NASTY piece of work and VERY RUDE AND DEROGATORY. I was given a paralegal to help me with my house purchase. She never replied to my emails or answered the phone. The seller's solicitor was left waiting for weeks every time he sent them anything. I nearly lost my dream home because of Chadwick Lawrence, Sam Conveyancers and both of their failures to progress matters. To make matters even worse they negligently missed out an error in the sale contract and I had to flag it to them. It then took weeks to rectify, Thank the LORD that I checked it so carefully. Should have just done it myself. NEVER EVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!!! PLEASE AVOID!!!!!!

It’s just a total shambles. I’m totally lost for words, would have been easier to study up and become qualified then let lease clowns work for you, I still can’t believe I had to pay for this service, ruined buying my first place

Used them via an online agency and wish that I had not . I used them as I was selling a property and the price was around 60% of normal high street costs. All savings and so much more were wiped out by the delays in completing the sale. I don’t blame the solicitor that acted on my behalf , I believe that they are significantly understaffed and have lost the will against a mountain of work. You can NEVER get through to speak to them, phone calls are not responded to and emails ignored. Queries from the other solicitor remain unanswered for weeks and weeks. Eventually the sale was done and I was so relieved. If the service was free I honestly would not use them , indeed if they paid me to use them I would not do so . I am now selling another apartment and they are now acting for the buyer. I am now 4 months into an accepted offer and my solicitor is still waiting for Chadwick Laurence. I have other premises and I will not sell to anyone that wishes to use them. They are atrocious

had the displeasure of using this solicitor via SAM CONVEYANCING. Horrible people. Really make you feel like you’re a hassle. They don’t pick up the phone and it takes a week to get any response to emails. My seller was fuming that we were holding up everything because they took so long to get their act together. Never ever again

Appalling service from this law firm, who were instructed on our behalf by SAM Conveyancing (also appalling). Every single staff member was very rude and unfriendly and it took 3 or 4 chasers / voicemails before they replied on anything. Ignored our queries. In the end they held up our sale and probably added 3-4 weeks to the process. Use a quality law firm and avoid this place at all costs

Dealt with Lashana via Sam Convyenacing. No idea how these guys are still in business. Do not respond to emails/phone calls and act like you are inconveniencing them when you ask simple questions or make straightforward requests. They will hold up your sale/purchase and cause you unnecessary stress. They don't read any of the legal documents and just approve them without question - very negligent and we had to review all docs ourselves to spot errors and inaccuracies. Avoid this horrible firm at all costs and pay a little bit more for a firm that actually cares!

Absolutely appalling service from Lashana and her "supervisor" Helen who did nothing at all. Missed basic provisions in the documentation. Unresponsive to emails and phone calls. Acted like I was an inconvenience. Avoid this cowboy firm at all costs!

Solicitor was almost impossible to get hold of. The one meeting we had with her was mostly spent with her telling us about her home, children and her 'huge' car. She was very lacklustre and showed no urgency when it was required.

In truth, they are wholly abysmal. The slow pace at which they work could perhaps be forgiven if the solicitor happened to possess the ability to be remotely polite. However this is not the case. I found them to be extremely rude and uncooperative. Seem to forget that they are working for you, not doing you a favour. Avoid at any and all costs, there’s a reason that they are one of the cheapest.

unfortunately all the negative reviews are completely accurate. I also used Chadwick Lawrence who provided a absolutely rubbish service. No response to emails or calls mostly.

They have provided a bare minimum service. Throughout the proccess you have no clue as to what is happening. Even though you are paying for the service they behave as if they are doing you a favour.

I am baffled as to how the company is still in business.

Your best bet is to pay a bit more and go with a respectful firm. It will save you a ton of stress and probably mpney also in the long run.

Absolutely horrendous service. They don't answer phone calls or reply to emails. So far I have called Paulette 4 times since Monday (its now Thursday), left 2 voice messages asking for a call back and nothing. This seems to be their standard service. Tons and tons of chasing which really slows things down.

They are slow, rude, unhelpful and provide an awful service. I was passed on to them by SAM conveyancing. I wish I never had to deal with this company.

Seriously negligent

We've recently bought a share of a flat, and we did receive several letters from the HMRC letting us know that our stamp duty was not payed.

After more than 4 months of dealing with long email chains with the solicitors and endless calls with the HMRC, they claim they have solved the problem. Yet I still don't have a written confirmation from the HMRC that they have paid my stamp duty.

I'm now claiming for a refund due to their negligent service but I have to go through an endless complaint procedure in order to do so.

I would seriously consider any other solicitor service before Chadwick Lawrence. This is one of those cases where Reviews are actually true!!!

This solicitors firm charges for mere communication for example emails which were not informative or useful in the slightest. Their response rate is non existent and a reply is rare. I had to constantly chase them up, they would lie and say their staff was not in the office or not well and instead of briefing another staff member to take on my case they made me wait. They have taken thousands from me and I am still not at court level to handle my dispute . My case should be an open and shut case. They offered conflicting and questionable advice in order to send more letters which were not nessesary . I have now contacted the solicitors regulation authority and ombudsman to claim my money back

Terrible, One of the worst companies I've had to deal with. Don't know what information to give, always making us jump through hoops and never getting back to you.
When you do get information or reply from them, you most likely get a standard response or the wrong information.
Never apologised or tried to be better.

Really poor service. They’re cheep but for a reason. Would rather have payed more and recieved less stress. I was always having to chase them up as they don’t let you know what’s going on, and they don’t respond to emails until days later. Incompetently slow. Would not recommend to anyone. If I could have given no stars I would have.

The service has been the worst possible not only didn't they get mums Will signed before she died but the conflicting advice they have just caused arguments amongst the family getting them arguing so Chadwick Lawrence made money out of it. You phone and ask for a solicitor so mum can make a Will as she's dying, Susan Preece came quickly mum made a Will then it was left for her to come back a week later, she was called again 2 days later to say mum had deteriated and needed to have the Will witnessed urgently, there was no urgency on their part and unfortunately mum passed away before Will was witnessed therefore getting more money out of it although I suggested the neighbour come and witness the Will on her first visit but her reply was I like to bring my Secretary as it gets her out of the office. Absolutely would not recommend they are useless and would recommend going elsewhere.

Slow, lazy and unable or unwilling to comprehend and deal with fairly simple procedural matters. Even when being spoon-fed information. I engaged them through a conveyancing agent who claimed their USP was communication and customer relationship, but I have bought 8 properties and this was by far the worst company I have worked with. At one point appeared to be on the side of the vendor as it was easier for them to do that. Incredibly disrespectful.

Service appaling..constantly having to chase up.
They were so slow to respond to enquiries that the mortgage offer expired! Then I had to apply for a new one!
Do not recommend at all. Any other brick and mortar conveyancer will be better. Save yourself the stress. It's not worth it no matter how much cheaper they claim to be!

Please do not use for conveyancing. The communication has been appalling, the speed at which anything is progressed has been appalling. Constantly having to chase up every day and nothing happens. The solicitor dealing with our case is hardly every in the office, and the PA is clueless as to what is happening.
