Coles Miller Solicitors LLP

16/02/19 - Reviewed by Stephen Cassidy

Absolutely abysmal Service. Coles Miller took our case on in the full knowledge that it is funded by Legal Expenses Insurance. Among other reasons when later dropping us like a stone without consulting our Insurers (which is against the Insurer’s terms), they stated that our Insurers were unlikely to fund our high value claim to the end anyway. - They were wrong. - Our current Solicitors continue to be funded by the same Insurers and the claim is progressing. Despite us being Local, the Solicitor Sarah Nineham, refused to meet with us and was never once available to speak with us on the telephone throughout our dealings when we phoned asking to speak to her. She refused numerous times to give us a Client Care Letter, until dropping us (having consumed a significant percentage of our Insured amount), yet had failed to comply with the Firm's own response times repeatedly. When we made a Complaint, Mrs. Nineham's Head of Department, Mr. Neil Andrews intervened, giving us cause to also complain against him. Mr. Andrews became particularly unpleasant, (in our opinion) suggesting that some of our complaints could be defamatory. As a Solicitor, Mr. Andrews would know that Defamation requires the information to public, which as an internal Complaint, this wasn’t. Mr. Andrews ought to know better than to try to suggest to a Retired Police Officer that also has some knowledge of law that, he could be guilty of defamation! Despite the full knowledge of Mr. Andrews’ involvement, Coles Miller again breached their own policies in allowing Mr. Andrews to investigate the Complaint into himself (and Mrs. Nineham), on the basis that he is the Firm's Complaints Partner. This could have been avoided as, when we disagreed with Mr. Andrews’ findings, Coles Miller appointed another Partner to review our Complaints, who obviously has the authority to overrule Mr. Andrews and who therefore arguably could have investigated our Complaints in the first place. In our opinion, dealing with Coles Miller Solicitors has been at least as stressful as the Claim which we are fighting.
