Don’t bother with this firm. It used to be good but not anymore and I will not be returning. Old and slow or new and dumb and I mean really dumb. They don’t keep you advised, very slow, very rude and very unprofessional. They also overcharge.

This place has gone down hill from years ago so I can no longer recommend. My family and I will never return. Absolute shambles with very rude, aggressive and incompetent people if you are lucky enough to get a response.

Very bad firm and poor service. Bradley’s rude and unprofessional behaviour cost us two houses and thousands of pounds. He may have some personal issues he is dealing with, but he behaved in a very aggressive, rude, unprofessional and immature manner and then went AWOL for 4 days. This cost us the second house. In the first case, he sat on a very important piece of information for 3 weeks, and by the time we were able to action it, the vendors pulled out.
Bradley isn’t fit to be doing the role he is in, and Curwens has no complaints procedure or cover for unstable employees. To date we haven’t received a reply to any of our complaint emails and escalations.
Disappointed to have been mistreated by this firm and Bradley, and this has cost us two homes and a sizeable amount of cash and immeasurable amount of stress.

Curwens prepared Enduring Powers of Attorney for both my parents. On requesting the originals from Curwens, we were informed that neither of the Powers of Attorney were valid. One was missing a date of signature and both had the dates of signature in the wrong sequence. It is evident that neither document was checked when returned by the client to Curwens. As a consequence we are having to start the application process for Powers of Attorney from the beginning. These are fundamental errors which should have been picked up by Curwens.

It is impossible to confirm whether this Anonymous reviewer was ever a client, because we do not recognise the details of the case. Nevertheless, we are both proud and precious of the service that we offer to our clients, and take addressing any customer complaints extremely seriously.

Really bad service, expensive as bill more than estimate with “extras” and you can never get in touch by phone or get a call back. Surprisingly if they bother to email just about everyone who responded can’t spell. Avoid this firm or you will be sorry.

18 months after originally using Curwens, it transpired our title deeds had never been registered and we had not been provided with various documents needed to sell our flat (receipts, certificates etc). Having seemingly provided a decent service when we were paying customers, Bradley and his team then proved uncommunicative, unhelpful and even rude and patronising at times. We had to threaten with legal action and formal complaints to even get replies to emails. Our whole transaction was jeopardised, requiring constant chasing to resolve by us and our present solicitor (who was far better, more reliable and trustworthy).

Very expensive and they bill for time which is excessive to charge even more. Very poor advice with lots of delays. Avoid Vijaya Sumputh. She gets things wrong and uses Barristers so you end up paying twice.

I am very sorry to hear this. I haven't had any such complain throughout my career. My clients have always been very pleased with the given advice and costs estimates. I would have expected you to raise your concern directly with me, if indeed you had one. However, do feel free to contact me as I am very interested to know who you are .

Bradley Burnett is rude, unprofessional and God knows how he is a partner in a Law Firm. He is not even a solicitor. He cannot spell, makes mistakes, delays, shouts a lot and is very childish. Don't bother to complain as they take that long to look into it that it is a waste of time.

The firm doesn’t care about his behaviour and won’t bother reply to any emails or taking any calls. Terrible experience that cost us 2 homes, £10k, 7 months and gave us stress and anxiety.

This practice failed to act professional and diligently in my conveyancing which resulted in me having to make a complaint. In rectifying their failure and given me assurances, I subsequently found out that they had still omitted information to a 3rd party organisation which is still delaying the process. I have once again complained and the practices have refused to comunicate with me to acknowledge the complaint or rectify the issue . This will lead me to make a complaint to the legal Ombudsman. In my opinion this practice does not focus on customer service and communication and I would not recommend them .

Service was terrible. Absolutely atrocious. Charge was over £7,000 for doing minimal work. Solicitor lacked knowledge in her field. Severe incompetence. I had to do most of the work and still charged for correcting her numerous errors. I would definitely not recommend using Curwens in Enfield for Probate you will be disappointed and frustrated with the lack of professionalism.

Charges were reasonable however, they were very unresponsive and I spent my time chasing things up. They do not return your calls and the solicitors are never available, simply leaving the office assistant and receptionists to give contact which is inadequate.

Really dissapointing experience of using Curwens for the purchase of my property in the Park Place development. They were the recomended solicitor from the developer and we were given a financial incentive to use Curwens, which was a total mistake. When the developer is paying the bill, Curwens are not really acting for the buyer, so they were not acting in my best interest. Bradley Bernett is the client executive (not solictor) in charge this dodgy department, that effectively helps developers get their sales over the line in London and he can be found as the "recomended" solicitor on a number of other new build developments in London.

Bradley has been terrible at replying to emails, rude and arrogant and has chosen to withold key information, while giving out advice that is simply wrong. Avoid them like the plague if you want impartial service.

On Friday sent a copy of instruction to Alan Carter who is the Managing Partner and Complaints Manager Alan is a lso a gentleman he immediately emailed 5me that he was on holiday and consequently could not help me. In past have and will continue to recommend both Bradley Bernett Conveyancing and Adrian Boulter Litigation. Adrian is phenomanal and is also a complete waste gentleman

Buying a property is always stressful, and Curwens certainly contributed. Once we finally got Bradley Bernett to contact us directly instead of his young assistant, he used confusing jargon and we literally had to form our questions to get 'yes'or 'no' answers. Everything from his explanations of the process to labelling of the documents he sent us was confusing. At the end he sent a list of charges on an excell sheet, without even Curwen's logo on it.

We were lied to from the start of the process to the end. Our solicitor had left the company but we weren't told this, only told that she would "Call us back". It was only later that we found out she had left. This held up our sale considerably and the whole process was awful, stressful and we wouldn't recommend.

Not very good at all, They only found out about a charge on the property 2 days before initial exchange......was not informed that person i was dealing with was going on maternity leave. They lost documents which I had to provide again.......And I had to discover that landlords legal rep only worked 1 day a week. It took me nearly 6 months to complete.

My experience with Curwens was absolutely dire, the worst I have ever had with any solicitor. Bradley Burnett, on the rare occasions he was available was rude, condescending and verbally abusive. Bradley doesn’t lack knowledge but he lacks people skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Matthew barely knew what he was doing and together they were a shambles, almost causing me to lose my property. Absolutely awful awful firm, I don't know how they can get away with it. My advice is do not touch them, this is a money making scam.

I wish I'd read this before appointing Curwens Enfield. I'd used them as I'd had a great experience with Curwens in Royston, and thought they'd be similar. It was an easy, buy to let purchase, so I was quite relaxed about timescales. However, on hearing that the sellers' solicitors could never get hold of them I worried and started to prompt. They don't respond to calls or emails (solicitors or their secretaries), xxx out at the moment but leave a voicemail and they'll get back to you' is a joke. Absolutely horrendous customer service. Promises to email updates never fulfilled. I thought it was all over, paid my bill thinking I wouldn't use them again, and have found out that they've not sent something vital and it needs to go urgently. Again, not responding to voicemails or emails. Unprofessional, uncooperative, unresponsive.

We, too, were recommended Curwens by our estate agent and we have so far found them to be completely unresponsive to all communications. They do not answer the phone, do not respond to messages being left and our solicitor has just gone away on a two week holiday during the critical stage of our house sale without having informed us. I can only believe that our estate agents are getting some kind of kick back from this recommendation as I have seen nothing meritable about the service they offer. Avoid them is my advice.

I was recommended this firm of solicitors by my estate agent and very much regret instructing them.

The service was bad including many delays (with the solicitor telling me paperwork was posted out that then didn't arrive) and miscommunication.

The solicitor assigned to me did not pay attention to detail so much of his correspondance contained spelling, punctuation and grammar errors.

I had naively assumed that the solicitor would be making progress along the lines discussed without me needed to check on him like a naughty child, who will get away without doing their homework if no-one is watching. After two missed deadlines, I realised I was unable to rely on the solicitor for anything and instead was forced to spend time and money during the working day chasing for information.

The solicitor held a large amount of money as deposit on my flat, for a month and do not account for interest so they benefitted from their incompetence.

I complained by letter, on 5th November and heard nothing from them (why did I expect anything more?). I chased them on 15th November although no-one was available to speak to me, someone Emailed on 16th to say they would be back in touch within the next 2 weeks.
