Would avoid at all cost. Experience with Mr Wallworth there, very poor. Never takes a call rarely replies to an email. Never completed my mother's Will 2003. Nearly 4 years now waiting for Land registry completion.. that task left to last, 2 years after father passing.
Please email me for details happy to share details of experience so far.

We used these solicitors to probate my mother's will - due to a lack of planning, concentration & what I can only term as incompetence/negligence the estate was almost left short by approximately £40,000 (roughly 25%).

It was only due to intervention by the family (which was very stressful for the widower which eventually led to the funds being retrieved)

Avoid this company

Nightmare. If the other party in your sale/purchase is using this lot run a mile.

Unhelpful to everybody including the estate agent representing the seller, slow and obstructive in everything. Took 5-10 attempts to get them to send paperwork, and then had to repeat requests as they missed simple things out. Has now taken over two months for them to send a certificate of consent despite chasing from my own solicitors and property management company.

I would definitely not recommend Melvin Berryman to anybody. The service you get is appalling. No apologies for things he gets wrong and no feedback. You have to keep contacting him and checking that things are done. I would not trust him at all.

Melvern Berrymann in Ferguson Bricknell is the worst solicitor, I was trying to sort some legal paperwork for a property to be transferred in Jan - Apr 2016, He is unprofessional and very vague when asking for advice.NEVER USE THEM- He is someone who is not really bothered all he thinks about is his money.

Melyvyn Berryman was dismissed from his post at a solicitor firm in Abingdon before joining Fergason Bricknell, clearly the owner of this firm of solicitors does not do checks on his employees before hiring them. Graham Leather of Fergason Bricknell was involved in a 1.5 million pound fraud concerning the firms client account amongst other things in 2007, he was sentenced to jail for 4 and a half years and struck off the solicitors roll. The SRA should close this firm down for good.

I am desperate for information on this solicitor because I am trying to obtain a copy of the will for an immediate family member and Mr Berryman is refusing to provide me with a copy and tells me I'm not entitled to it.
Is this bloke dodgy??
I've been told that my children have been left money but I want evidence of this but how can I if he won't give me a copy of the will?

Once probate has been granted, wills enter the public domain and can be viewed by any person via https://www.gov.uk/wills-probate-inheritance/searching-for-probate-records (they used to be held by Somerset House but no more).

However, he should let you have a copy on request before probate is granted because if you think there is something wrong about the will (e.g.undue influence) you will need to lodge a caveat immediately. A caveat pauses the process while the complaint is considered or litigation takes its course.

I cannot tell anyone enough that giving Fergason Bricknell a very wide berth is the best thing they could ever do.
They dealt with two of my deceased family,s estate, they lied to beneficiaries about assets, covered up inheritances and worked to their own agenda. When I complained to Christopher Wallworth the practice manager he was lazy and incompetant in his investigation, got all the concerned people wrong and gave a totally incorrect idea of what had happend from their firms point of view.
When your loved ones die you need exceptional and trustworthy legal advice and care that all assets are identified and protected, this firm does not do this.
Looking at a previous solicitor with the firm and his jail term served for fraud concerning the firms client account its no surprise to me that another solicitor of the firm is on control for client account issues. Clearly YOUR possessions are not safe in their care.
Avoid this firm like the plague.

Do not use this firm, especially if you are dealing with Melvin Berryman. Awful, just awful. Communication is terrible, he does not respond to queries, you are left completely in the dark. When he finally does respond, you are given vague information.
