General Legal advice

I could not trust the solicitors at the Plym House branch . I recorded the Head of litigation telling me all of the mistakes that had occurred with my case . Some of these mistakes were later denied by the Complaints manager as she was unaware I had recorded Head of litigation laying it all out on the telephone . These mistakes included conflicting advice , work for expert witnesses was carried out , then I was told they couldn’t be used . Huge costs were incurred . Head of litigation told me costs for over half the work done on my case by the assistant solicitor would be written off as it was “ unnecessary and irrelevant “ , the person dealing with my case had been “ distracted by peripheral issues “ therefore the “costs charged couldn’t be justified “. The complaints manager upheld that costs were disproportionate to my case and stated £20,000 had been deducted from the bill . I had been advised to spend thousands upon equipment which I was told could be claimed back but upon review was informed the costs couldn’t be claimed back . When I questioned why I was told to spend thousands on equipment that couldn’t be claimed for , I was told they couldn’t represent me due to a conflict of interest . I paid over £20,000 into a client account which they spent on fees and disbursements despite these being covered by insurance . They refunded £5,000 and refused to refund the rest . After leaving a negative review about their appalling service they wrote that I was trying to “significantly harm” their business by leaving negative reviews so they added the £20,000 back onto the bill for costs which by their own admission “ couldn’t be justified , were irrecoverable for work which was irrelevant , disproportionate to my case and couldn’t be used at trial .” When I collected my files to take to another solicitor one of them was labelled with the name of my son’s school and a client ( whom we knew) who were in litigation ( which we had no knowledge of ) . I would not use the solicitors at the Plym House branch if they paid me .
