We started well enough, although I was frequently asked to post feedback, which I didn't think was appropriate when they hadn't yet done anything. At the moment the buyer's solicitor is waiting for answers to questions which were given weeks ago on their e-way page, then more recently printed, signed and posted back by recorded delivery . I've asked why the delay, but had no reply yet. When I did phone once to check on progress, the message service said the person I wanted wasn't available, and then it just rang out. I am wishing I hadn't been persuaded by the sales pitch, that they could complete more quickly than an external conveyancer.

So my experience seemed hopeful to begin with. Everyone I talked to was helpful and I was able to reach people with ease and got emails back. However, there was a lot of "I will get back to you on that..." which dragged on for months! Some of the answers I received when checking on things were worrying, such as "Do I send this by post to the address of the conveyancer?" and the response was "Uhm.....yeah. Sure. Im not 100% to be honest but send it there and we will redirect it if its wrong."
I am finally changing solicters but they have endangered the sale and wasted so much of mine and the selllers money nevermind the mental strain this has put on me. I have anxiety and depression a nd for the first time in years I had a full meltdown.
People I talked to were lovely but useless. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM

We are using PPL to sell our house and purchase. The purchase has now been a nightmare, we were expecting to move in October, and it is now nearly December. The same enquiries have been going back and forth between them and the vendors solicitors since September. PPL hardly ever contact us, we are forever chasing, and at one stage got told, by our PPL representative, to leave them alone so she could get on with her job. We keep getting told it is down as of the utmost urgency, But cannot seem to see where the urgency has been taken seriously. This has been and is still, one of the most stressful experiences I have ever dealt with, and this is largely down to PPL. Would not recommend to anyone!

Service was good until property completed. Towards the end they sent a notice to HMRC saying we should pay 350k in stamp tax instead of 7.5k. We received bill for 350k. I told lawyer and he said he would send a letter to correct it. According to HMRC, this letter had a, different address on it. HMRC writes to lawyer for clarification. Clarification never comes. So we get another bill for 7.5k although we obviously paid this on completion. We much distressed, contact the lawyers several times (during corona crisis admittedly) but their responses are brief and thry basically say accounts cant provide proof we paid because it was such a long time ago (2017). In the end we go to HMRC directly who tell me this sorry tale. I woukd love to hear PPLs side to thr story but they habe not responded. Best conclusion i can make to date is thay the thought of a former client receiving unjust bill for 7.5k due to their error does not concern them enough to generate a professional response.

Extremely poor communication from solicitors. Whenever try to speak to them they are not available. I put my offer in in September 2019 and had it accepted. It is now January 2020 and contracts still haven't been exchanged. The seller has not received any deposit or monies from me as yet due to outstanding enquiries from my solicitor which still go unanswered

Solicitor was professional throughout however had to keep chasing for updates, didn't seem to be any urgency to sellers solicitor. Took 6 months till I got the keys. Did did not complete twice when it was supposed to due to outstanding enquiries. Very stressful for myself as had to keep postponing deliveries and mess work around.

Would not use them again.
Get told different completion dates every week.
They are sometimes rude on the phone also sounding miserable.
I rang them to ask for an update and they just said yeah we chased the seller however didn't even ask for my name, what property I'm buying or any other personal information..
The quotes change as well, so the quote you get given may likely change to a higher price.
The E portal I did like though which is why I 2 starred the company.

The conveyancing requirement only was for a cash purchase of a 5 bedroom detached house with no chain, no mortgage and no survey. It could not be simpler! Communications with PPL were very poor, at times it was difficult to understand them ... when you could get through to the person 'supposedly' dealing with it. Indications of actions agreed had to be chased to be done more than once before done. The PPL on-line system was a bit tedious (I printed off 42 pages) at the start of use, but it was not properly used and followed by their staff. I will not use PPL again and regrettably have just declined using Your Move for a sale, as they tend to use them.

I have had the same issue with this company - I struggle to understand how they are still allowed to practice given the incompetency they operate with. Absolutely shambles. I wish there was some authority we could complain about this company to.

You can, there is an ombudsman who regulate these people, just google it, I will be when I have the energy as they have just lost us our sale, a chain of 5 houses down to their incompetance
You should also look at the Council for Licensed Conveyancers and complain there too, I will be, typical cover their arse attitude, no sorry, no apologies whatsoever nothing... utterly disgraceful!!!!

What an appalling company, both buyer & seller used PPL so you would hope it would speed things up, particularly as there was no chain. Nope! Lack of communication between both sides, no one seemed to pick up a phone, preferring to wait 4/5 days for an email response ..rude staff, inspite of promising to return calls...nothing. Making what is a stressful experience already (ie moving house) just absolutely ridiculously painful and exhausting! DO NOT USE them!!

Ive reported PPL to the Ombudsman. Avoid at all costs. Slow, unresponsive, rude and take no accountability for their actions. They even refuse to log conplaints when you complain.

There is and they should actually have a copy of their complaints policy on their site.
If you want to take it further then try.
