My experience of this firm was not a good one. I , as executor, engaged them in 2017 to deal with the estate of my late mother along with one other executor. During the early stages one of their professionals made a serious error in a tax calculation which resulted in a 12 month battle to obtain money back from HMRC. This ultimately lead to the breakdown of the relationship between myself and the other executor which meant Charlesworth Nicoll withdrew their services due to a conflict of interest. Another firm of solicitors was engaged plus I had to personally engage a litigation lawyer to deal with the breakdown of trust between myself and the other executor which was a direct result of the issues mentioned above. This ultimately cost me personally many thousands of pounds. Charlesworth Nicoll did eventually reimburse the estate with monies accumulated in obtaining the refund of tax incorrectly paid but not my personal fees for the litigation issues. So therefore I would not recommend this firm of solicitors.

We are not able to comment on the details of this review due to client confidentiality but we can confirm that we have addressed all of the issues raised in good faith and that we always act with integrity and transparency in those very few cases where sometimes things do go wrong and with the intention of doing our utmost to put matters right. We are sorry that sometimes things take a long time when the timescales rest with other agencies and are completely outside our control.
