20/12/18 - Reviewed by L GURUNG

My nephew and his spouse were on the process to buy a property in Newport, Wales. I decided to help them on their deposit, me taking personal loan from my bank. My nephew spoke to this firm and they sent me a letter with a donation form to be filled!

I actually wanted to lend them on free interest on 'Promissory Note' but when I received this form by post then, I thought this is the way of doing! So even I asked them and they confirmed me to send - a proof of source of fund, my Identification, bank statements etc. and it will be fine! They seems happy on the phone! But when it came just few days before the 'contract exchange' they refused to accept my money saying that I can not make donations as I am not a close family members!

That created a lot of problems to arrange again that sort of amount for deposit! Why on earth they kept quiet until to the last moment! I know their rule says 'they are not able to provide advice' but at least they could say ' sorry this donation method will not be accepted! And if that was not acceptable then why they asked me to fill up those forms and provide all sources and identifications! I work day shifts and I had to take a day off to go to bank and certify my documents for nothing!

Really annoyed, waste of time, very unhelpful, I would not recommend this firm again !
