Armstrong has recently settled my claim with the agreed barristers advise after 1 year and a half it has finally come to a end. Like many have said they are not good with call backs and are not good with keeping you updated YOU HAVE TO BE PERSISTENT i rung them at least 2 times a week, as when i didn't ring i heard nothing. However, i kept my cool and they was never rude to me,(could be because i was never rude) i was never dealt with by a nonprofessional. I would have given more stars however i can relate to some of the other reviews and nearly lost my rag and rung other solicitors for advise as i was worried i was getting scammed as well. I am thankful for the settlement but as the 3rd party admitted fault in the first place and i chased up a lot of the paperwork needed to proceed should this have taken this long? I am also deducting a * because i rang up about my cheque and they said they have to wait up to 30 days for it but my cheque was sent the same day i rang.

My refund case has been opened for over 3 years, although the car driver who hit me assumed full responsability for the accident. I sent several emails to Armstrong and i cannot get any update.
I am planning to act legally against Armstrong for negligence.

2 years after accident i am still getting letter asking for bank statements and pay details..

I was stuck when my car got hit and they painted a beautiful picture of how perfect it would be.

After a year of dealing with them, they told me i had to go through my own insurer and their involvement would be over.

That was march 2016..

I am still getting letters asking for personal finances which i will not provide and seeing all these stories makes me s*** myself..

I'm trying to buy a house with my young family and i have this looming over my head..

Its the worst decision i ever made over panicking on insurance premiums..

I'll regret using them for the rest of my life.

This company works alongside DAMS, pls pls pls do not take your accident liability claim to either of these companies.
My mum initially had an accident and the staff were so unprofessional from DAMS.
They kept writing letters demanding money for the car hire and then kept demanding that the hire car will be taken off my mum. Eventually that's exactly what they did in a profound rude manner.
To make matters worse my wife had an accident, one of two racing cars crashed in to the back of our car and guess what........ Nearly a year later nothing has happened.

Stay well clear.
This is the collective of muppets in the highest order.
Nearly 2.5 years waiting for a claim to be settled.
Currently have ongoing claim with Legal Onbudsman who have taken up my complaint and Investigating this cowboy outfit.

They never return calls
They lie to you and fail to act
They never submit paperwork expeditiously
No consistency in case workers
Staff think they are clever and manipulate everything
Reception staff lie and divert calls and say no one available
Case file always being reviewed or with someone else
Their dinner break starts at 9am and finished at 4pm
If they dint have so many meetings they would get some work done.
Complaints procedure is a sham.
I complained to HR and immediately had the person I was complaining about on the phone.
They won't even reply to legal ombudsman which they are duty bound by their codes of practice.
Have left me in crippling debt directly because of accident and have know my circumstances but choose to ignor or help in any way.
This outfit require being struck off from legal practice and it is a joke that they have a department within their organisation to investigate other Solicitors bad practices.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Worst level of service I have ever encountered in my life.

Armstrong's and Direct Accident Management work together, DAM provide the hire and Armstrong's submit the claim at hugely inflated prices. A small average car will be charged out to an insurer for around £200 per day plus other costs, so you can imagine how much a medium saloon will cost, companies like this are causing our premiums to go up each year.
Do not use them because a lot of insurers refuse to pay their extortionate hire charges, and the claimant signs the hire agreement which means they are liable.

Saviours - I didn't have the money to pay my excess.

Direct accident & Armstrongs were great. They helped me when my insurance company were taking too long. I didn't have all the details if the guy that hit me, but direct accident with the help of Armstrongs pursued him for me. I got a hire car the next day and I couldn't of been happier. There was more paperwork involved than going through my insurance, but then my insurance company weren't doing anything about it! I got the choice to keep my car when it was written off, and although it's not worth much it means a lot to me. I would recommend anyone to use them if they didn't want to use their own insurance. I couldn't afford my excess so this was brilliant not having to pay. But because the guy that hit me wasn't saying there had been an accident I probably was going to have to pay it with my insurer. I won't loose my no claims bonus either.

Looks like only people who have negative things to say go on this site, so hopefully I can add a balanced view.

I had a car accident just over 8 months ago and Armstrong's Solicitors were requested to manage my claim, I didn't know a great deal about this whole process, so was pleasantly surprised that I received an information pack etc 2 days after first reporting my accident, this highlighted all the things I could expect to see over the coming months of my claim.

I called and spoke to the Solicitor about 2 months down the line just to see how things were progressing and because my car had come back from the repair shop (looking like new again :) thank goodness ) The Solicitor (Jo) advised me where they were with my claim and when I would hear from them again. I heard around 2 months later with an update explaining to me that they were proceeding with the claim and next time I would hear from them it would be re finalisation, if everything went according to plan..

I heard from them 3 days ago, when I received a cheque for my personal injury and that more importantly my case was now settled... :)

As far as I am concerned, I couldn't have battled with an insurance company, I don't have the knowledge nor the time, so as far as Armstrongs goes for me its a big thumbs up, a big thanks to Jo who was great during the phone calls and updates.

I am currently using Armstrongs Solicitors and have a hire car via dams (yes the two companies seem to have a connection) and to be fare i have just recieved a car settlement 2 months after my accident. (so soon i hear everyone cry), admittedly i was initially very worried after reading the reviews on here but it seems you have to be persistent with both of these companies AND if you have the chance to go through 3rd parties insurance then do it.
I ended up chasing all 3 companies DAMS, ARMSTRONGS and 3rd PARTY INSURER. My claim did seem to be taking rather long so i telephoned the 3rd party and they were well aware of armstrongs and how they work, the chap advised me on the phone after waiting 7 weeks that he was making it his priority today, they were well aware of armstrongs costs and he told me they are an absolute nightmare to deal with and in fact his company has been to court with them twice in the past. It seems the way they go about their business is ruthless and it appeared to me that if you are not persistent in chasing your claim that they would string it out for as long and as much money as possible. I must admit they can be very slow and frustrating to deal with at times and they dont make you feel like they are progressing. To be fare they were probably so sick of my daily calls and my voice that they got me settled fairly quickly (2 months), i also got the full amount as promised, so no hidden fees there. They did not let DAMS know that i had been settled though so i did this the same day myself! didn't want any extra fees from DAMS for their hire car (again I've read the reviews!) so all in all i should have done this claim and done a short course in law in the meantime, i did do alot of the chasing and you shouldn't really have to, but i didn't trust them (again bad) and i started to realise that if your not persistent they will string your claim for as long as possible. My top tip for dealing with these guys is BE PERSISTENT... BE VERY PERSISTENT and you will get your settlement fairly quickly... i am still awaiting the personal injury settlement but i know this can take time so again I'll wait 6 months or so and then barrage them once again with my annoyance. I would rank this solicitors as average out of the many staff who answered the phones actually only 2 were helpful. You WILL NOT get a call back so dont EVER ASK THIS... I tried and failed several times! You just have to keep on at them and yes it states in the paperwork NOT to do this but for me it paid off. They really need a staff sort out as 2 out of roughly 20 different people i spoke to WERE actually helpful the rest were actually quite rude and didn't seem to bothered, OH and you wil never get throught to the solicitor or her secretary unless you write a formal complaint! (but obviously only do this of your claim is taking excessively long). Once you've done this you should get an immediate response, if you don't then contact the law society as they can help.
But from personal experience dealing with Armstrongs and DAMS be prepared to do alot of chasing.

HEAD TO TOE COWBOY SUIT.

Armstrong will WASTE your time to prolong your claim. The reception are RUDE and find whatever excuse they can find not to divert your call to the relevant person. They will NEGLECT the information you provided them and finally attempt to CAPITALISE off your accident by claiming back thousands upon thousands of pounds in vehicle hire, recovery and garage storage charges.

I simply cannot stress how bad this company is. It partners itself with McAMS DAMS. DO NOT sign any paper work with them because they will not give you an overview of their hiring procedure but will get you to sign over liability of hire charges very quickly. This are PREMIUM and disproportionate charges.

What is worse is they have a sister company called Been Let Down who are professional negligence solicitors. They should be investigating themselves!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone would like to discuss their dealings with this firm further please email me at soulaquarians@gmail.com. I'd be happy to talk with you to gain and share advice on how to deal which such a company.

The owner of Armstrong's is a Credit Hire Specialist Barrister, he also has a strong financial stake in Direct Accident Management which also includes MCAMS and CAMS.

The Credit Hire side of things is where they make most of their money, hence the very high hire charges, and the longer they can keep the claim going the more they can charge.

I am an accident investigator. I only handle defendant work and and have 12 years experience in dealing with solicitors who treat genuine claimants appallingly. Here's some general advice. If you're a client and your solicitor is not getting back to you complain to the Solicitors Regulation Authority and say that the basis of your complaint is that the solicitor's failure to respond to you is discourteous and therefore likely to bring the profession into disrepute..
If you are making a claim arising from a road traffic accident and your solicitors offer to arrange a hire vehicle for you read the agreement you will be asked to sign VERY carefully. It's known as a credit hire agreement and will state that YOU could be held liable for the costs of vehicle hire. Should you have a road traffic accident please speak to your insurers first about the provision of a replacement hire vehicle. It may well be covered, free of charge, under your policy.

Partnered with Direct Accident these solicitors are crooks , I'm not sure how or why they are still trading . All the drivers with legal paperwork are foreign so can't answer any questions . Bank statements are asked for after the hire . Then I had to go to court . My claim was settlers but it was to claim back £400 per day hire costs that I was not aware of from Direct Accident !!! When I went to court I felt bullied into saying things like " I had no other means to pay for a car " the judge was asking questions about my savings it was a truly harrowing time of which was unnecessary and not explained by Direct Accident .

This is the worst company I have ever had dealings with!
They never ring back. I am up to 25 no ring backs
They never fulfill tasks on time
They fob you off at every occasion
Every time I ring it is put through to someone different handling the case who is always on Lunch or the case papers are getting reviewed by a supervisor.
The supervisor who claims to be a solicitor has also failed to complete tasks even when they have said they would carry out the task in a conference call with a Barrister.
I am disgusted by the lack of professionalism by all of the employees.
You cannot complain to anyone as reception won't put you through to anyone except the staff dealing with your case.
Feel lost, this company have left me in debt with false promises of interim payments before Christmas, they have left me injured and still not sorted out getting specialist medical review that is essential to the level of payment.
Yesterday a member of staff alerted me to the fact they where moving offices and didn't have full access to my files but she did tell me the solicitor in charge of my case failed to request all of the above over 6 weeks ago.

Would love to give this company 0 stars as they are an absolute joke. I think they are blatantly lying to us! My other half had a motorbike accident over two months ago in which the other driver admitted liability. We were given McAms details by a garage and decided to use them rather than go through our insurance. Whilst McAms seemed to have fulfilled their part of the deal Armstrongs appear to have done absolutely nothing! My partner's bike was written off and we are still waiting for the payout for this and this is what we are most infuriated by. My partner has rung them every week for an update on where our money is and each time he just gets fobbed off with excuses such as, the other insurance company are still doing their investigations into the crash and they are awaiting a report etc ... I don't believe any of this is true and I fail to see why an insurance company would be dragging their feet over a claim for £800 when they will be likely paying hundreds more in hire bike costs! The customer service is atrocious; no one ever phones back when they say they will, no one seems to know what is going on and we are thoroughly fed up of chasing this and are thinking of contacting the other insurance company direct to see if what the solicitors have said can be corroborated by them. Avoid this company at all costs is my advice!

The customer service from this solictors is awful. My case has been going on for 20 months and counting still not resolved, despite it being clear cut and having 2 witnesses. On Tuesday they sent out a letter dated 11th may 2015 for first time from there barrister which was incomplete. Called up 6 times, everytime they said they get me a call back this never happened. On the 7th time me calling, I get through someone called rachael, who tells me she doesn't have a clue what she doing as she is new and never worked in solictors before. This is just another week in my armstrongs nightmare case. No wonder my case ain't been sorted out and doesn't look like it's getting sorted out with any speed as staff don't have a clue. I have worked in call centres in past and sounds things from this rachael all what these armstrong staff are. No very little about law, or how an actual case should be dealt with by solictors. Just when I think they can't get any worse when you get through someone say they don't have clue and promise call back from senior member of staff which has still not happened. No communication, no feedback, no help all the way.

My case is still ongoing even though clear cut and simple.

One star rating too much but its the minimum.

How on earth is this company getting away with this. My husband had a non fault accident Feb 2015. We went through McAms who arranged hire moped, replacement helmet quickly. Settlement was paid out for a replacement moped quickly HOWEVER the personal injury case has been ongoing. Like others said no communication unless you chase. Reems of letters all quite scary with references to costs already incurred, means you feel obliged to sign and keep going. Excuses about why the case had not progressed in over 3 months, refereneces constantly to issuing court proceedings and jargon!!! When i insisted they explain EXACTLY the status of our claim WITHOUT legal jargon i was pretty much told the courts in Liverpool had a backlog and they were at the mercy if that. Finally got a letter with settlement figure less nearly £300 for after case costs........so our final payout was already down. We were told it would be 2-4 weeks before we could expect a cheque. Nearly 5 weeks later it turned up today with £460 less than we agreed with.......apparently this is an interim payment to Armstrongs for expert advice, court fees etc. They it seems have not billed ir been paid by the third part insurers, so have deducted it frim our settlement and are it seems holding onto this until they get paid!!. Us this even legal????. What the hell do we do now having waited nearly a year and a half. How can they get away with this?.

If you've had crap service and you think they are pulling a fast one contact Irwin Mitchell. No win no fee. We Recently heard about someone going to settle after an accident for £150,000 and Irwin Mitchell intervened at very last moment and got them £1,500,000.00. One and a half million pounds - HUGE DIFFERENCE~~~. dont use crap useless companies like this!. Makes me mad!!

Avoid at all costs. Had a simple no blame accident where my car was written off. Had hire car for three months, only needed it for one month as I bought another car, told them but they didn't collect the car for a further two months.Three months to get my money from D.A.M. Armstrongs now hassling me for payslips and bank statements etc. as probably the 'guilty' parties insurance company are disputing the charges. Car hire charges are around £10,000 for the three months. AVOID.

Not happy with this company. My accident happened in November 2014 and its now July 2016, all I'm getting is we're chasing medical reports. I only broke my ankle. I'm not looking for time off work costs just personal injury.

I went for my medical at Harley Street in November 2015 and the medical company still haven't given my report to Armstrong.

Armstrong said they would send a manager chaser to the medical company of they haven't heard anything and that was nearly 2 weeks ago.

I'm getting very tired of me having to constantly chase this company for an update. I feel theyre doing it on purpose to get more of a payout for them and see not considering what's in my best interest. Nearly a years wait just for an orthopedic report.

They said they will call me Friday. If the reports not with them by then, I will be lodging a complaint. This shouldn't be going on for this long.

Giving it 2 stars in areas of 1 because a gentleman called Sam is actually taking some ownership of this and is trying to help me.

ARMSTONG SOLICITORS ARE SHOCKING!!! I had evidence and proof of my Nerve damage and they still forgot to add it to my records and took it to the court without it... I told them and they admitted they had screwed up.. But the STILL refused to take it further and help me get better compensation... My friend who only had a few scuffs got more money than me and I'm physically going to with wit this pain for the rest of my life!!! DO NOT GO WITH ARMSTRONG SOLICITORS!!! I beg you they are not worth it AT ALL!!! I had to call them everytime they never called me.. And when I sent them the proof of evidence, the head woman called Joan said well your X-Ray came back untemarkable and you stopped going to doctors after a year!! You can't see nerve damage on a X-ray and they doctors cannot do anything further to help me with my condition!!! I GOT SCREWED BY THESE BIG TIME!!! The reception people are kind but the head woman was rude and tried to belittle me on the phone

I'm having issues with Armstrong Solicitors right now. It is exactly a year since my accident and it took 8 months to get physiotherapy arranged because they literally "forgot" about my case. They never call me back when I ask for a call back.

Is there anyway I can change to a different law firm and have them transfer my files over?

The service by Armstrongs is absolutely awful, no communication or help given at all. Every time you ring them no one seems to have a clue what is going on and keep using the phrase we need issue court proceedings. My RTA happened in feb 2015, and 14 months later, still coming out same line about how they need issue court proceedings they were going on about since last may. When ever you ask for call back at reception you never get one. Either the receptionist are not passing messages on or person receiving message ring back, is work avoiding! Thanks some reckless driver going into back my car, my car written off and I had purchase new one and use all my savings. Imagine if I kept Direct Accident's courtersy car, I still have it 14 months later, shocking service! I lost my job as I weren't able to work due to severe of my injurys, and still armstrongs haven't sorted the case out now they are causing me a lot personal stress. There were 2 passengers in the car with me and now they said they can only issue court proceedings when all 3 cases are put together, shouldn't that happened year ago, not 14 months into the case! Don't trust any garages try refer you direct accident who then put you onto Armstrongs, as the garage gets £750.00 referral fee for doing so. While I still haven't got my PAV cheque for my car and I am massively out pocket. Don't trust Direct Accident, Armstrongs Solicitors or the garage who try's get you go with them if your in RTA due to a reckless driver, speeding as 14 months down line you will still be thinking can this solicitors do anything right. Worst level of customer service I have ever had from any company!!!!!!!! I even have click on star to post this, wish I didn't as the service I have got is minus stars!

Absolutely terrible, anyone who is reading this please AVOID. My claim happened in May 2015 and currently is ongoing. I have been mis-told information on times, constantly having to call up to see where the claim is. They never keep the client up to date. Prolong every single part of the claim, but send you over 20 letters when you first start the claim so that if you try to cancel the claim you will have to pay Fee's for the letters they have sent. Everything is very slow, the staff do not have a clue half the time what is going on and just read off of a script. I advise anyone to stay away from this firm and if you have an accident and MOTOCENTRE tell you to go with Direct Accident Managment do not as they are the solicitors. If i could cancel the claim now i would but i would have to pay fee's of up to £500+, as they have sent me multiple letters. All in all AVOID, not worth the hassle and do not deserve the 25%!!!!!! fee. They do not even deserve 1 star.

Reading these reviews I am amazed that the claimants against me are using them. Who recommended them? 5 weeks after the road accident I have now received the third claimant form containing various exaggerated and possibly fabricated information, Whiplash features of course. Ir would be interesting to see how these solicitors based in Liverpool handle a case in central England. I would like to know how and if they have improved after the ombudsman report.

Armstrongs Solicitors conduct when acting agianst me was truly awful.
The handler was never available, they never returned any of my calls. When I requested documentation it was never provided, despite multiple requests. They then issued proceedings against me without notice, despite not providing me with the information requested.

I am with this company as well. Whilst I would agree that at times things have not gone well with the process and that one or two members of staff are rude and even inept at providing case update information as it would mean more for for that person, I must say that the person who has so far handled my case has done so well and has worked hard to resolve some problems.

Would I use this company again? No, and I could not fairly recommend them due to my experience, which I have raised with the Solicitors Ombudsmen. I must admit that some of the comments do ring a very loud bell with me but again the person helping me has done so with the very best attention to detail.

In my opinion and experience, this company does seem to have a poor reputation with some of it's customers who have, like me, had to go to a third party to seek help and advice and I would seriously suggest that Armstrongs look long and hard at some of their staff who clearly are damaging this company's service to clients.

This is an awful company. I am a client of this company and after months I am still waiting for an appointment to see a medical expert for my claim. Staff are not interested in helping on the phone and pass you around in circles, staff not briefed on cases being dealt with so when you call you get conflicting information. If you try to leave they make threats of sending you huge bills for work they claim to have done. Please, for the love of god, AVOID this company that are only interested in making money from your suffering and have no interest in you as a client. This law firm is very laced with regards to turning around medical reports, or keeping its client up to date and fully informed as to what is happening. When you speak with one person they will tell you something totally different to the next member of staff and because of the laced approach you will be constantly getting up to date GP medical file authority letters to sign off I would not recommend to anyone
