Barry Green in Quarry Bank was the solicitor our buyers used so full disclosure is that we did not employ his services.
However....he was absolutely atrocious. He made the already extremely process of moving house even more stressful. He was slow and unsympathetic. Our house move should have taken 8-10 weeks. Cash buyers. No chain. Barry Green managed to drag this out for 4 months. Last minute requests for surveys and searches. Informed 4 days before the agreed completion date we were still waiting for him so it was cancelled and had.to rearrange removals, annual leave, child care. This meant that for 2 weeks our autistic 4 year old had to live out of boxes, again waiting for him.
I would suggest to NEVER use him and I would also be wary of buying/selling to anyone who is using him as it'll be a nightmare.

This man was our buyers Solicitor, it was a deceased estate very sadly,1 house no upward chain, it took five months to complete.The delay by this solicitor cost us dearly as he didn't reply to emails, requested all paperwork to be sent by post, on some occasions he had three copies of the same document, claiming that he had not received it even though it was sent by email then post.We were advised that this property should take 6-8weeks to complete.Sadly all this has incurred further costs having to resend documents.It would have truly helped to put closure on a heartbreaking and emotional year by completion of this house sale, however this wasn't the case and the further delay has left us facing unnecessary house utility bills and an increased Solicitors bill.This Solicitor knowing he was handling a deceased persons estate has not acted in a very caring or professional manner by seemingly causing an unnecessary costly delay to a grieving family.

We found his service slow & laboured, which left us with the impression that he wasn't really up on the finer points of what he was being paid to do.
The conveyancing was taking so long it almost lost us the purchase of the house, and in the, end the task had to be handed over to another firm of solicitors to finish off.
That same firm later completed the sale of our other house, and the difference in efficiency & competence was night verses day. They were more expensive (slightly), so it goes to show; you get what you pay for.
I would not dream of using Barry Green again and resent ever having been introduced to him.

Another gutless individual. I offered him an appointment to deal with all queries but instead he just stood in front of me desk and muttered something about changing firms.
