I wouldnt even give one star.
Gwennan from gamlins was on social services suggestion list, i went for a female solicitor hoping she would understand. Understand from one mother to another that i needed my son home, but she didnt. She told me from start that ‘in these situation the child normally goes to adoption anyway’.
I was treated guilty from her from the start, treated like i was a kid and treated like i was a hassle to her. I barely contacted her as she was horrible and always negative towards me. She does not fight for your children.
Thankfully after 5months and before it was too late i changed solicitor,I changed to wollens ( victoria). They are not reccomended on the socials suggestion list and its pretty obvious why, they dont work with socials. When i changed solicitor i was told gwennan didnt do half the work on my behalf, i only had 3 weeks to go until my fact finding and wollens mamaged to do so much more than what gwennan had done in 5 months. To this day i believe that if i didnt have victoria i would of 100% of not had my son back. Gwennan was the one that made them do a drug test on me and my partner just so the socials could use this against us, no one had asked about it until gwennan mentioned it. The only good thing gamlins does is take your money even if its legal aid, they honestly dont care about you. I could write so much more but they are honestly not worth it.
Please for the sake of your children do not go with gamlins.
Search for wollens and ask for Rachel carter or her assistant victoria Harle. They also provide the best barrister ( Gemma chapman)

Used Gamlins in a property sale. Never had my phone calls returned. Could never get hold of the Solicitor. Solicitor and staff were rude. Paperwork was lost twice by Gamlins. Rubbish service.
Please avoid at all costs.

This company fails to safeguard children, ignores clear children wishes and pushes them into dangerous situations. It allows clear antisemitic and biased points of view to be prevalent and refuses to answer or address concerns put before it
If I can offer one point if advice to a new client. It's to avoid this company. I can prove what I'm putting forward

Having read your review and checked the file we note that you did not at any point discuss your concerns with us as a firm. Your views on matters are very different to the information on file. As you are aware we cannot discuss individual cases on here but there is a proper channel for complaints to be followed which you have completely ignored and filed this false claim online with no right to respond.

The service at Gamlins Llandudno was utterly unprofessional, we would have had more success herding cats. Have these people not heard of emails to help get things done in a professional and efficient manner, "no", as they probably processed everything with everyone using feathers and scrolls at the same time bleeding every available penny from us. How this company gets away with the way they work is beyond me, but it's obvious that the office staff and their manager are in need of a complete overhall.

We employed Gamlins Llandudno to deal with probate containing a contentious element, on our behalf. The persons involved were R Brown, G Jones, M Salisbury, F Ranson and R Williams. The service they provided was abysmal and left us with no alternative but to make a formal complaint to them for what was a multitude of misdemeanours. They refuted everything making it necessary to escalate the matter to the Legal Ombudsman who awarded us a Combination of Refunds, Compensation and waived costs amounting to several thousand pounds. Their summary comment was "The service provided to you was not of the standard you were entitled to expect". Other comments extracted from the Ombudsman's report - "This was a significant service failing", "Failure to provide costs updates was unreasonable", "There was no reason to retain such a large sum", "Failure to confirm the position regarding care and conduct charge was unreasonable", "It was undoubtedly a shock when "the client" received a letter confirming the upper estimate of costs had already been exceeded". The Ombudsman also unearthed further wrong doings which we were unaware of. We subsequently reported the Firm to the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Association) who concluded:- "I have found Gamlins Solicitors to be in breach of the following:-
SRA Account Rules 2011
1 Failed to release funds generated and held onto them without proper reason.
2 Failed to provide notification of costs prior to transferring monies from the client account.
SRA Code of Conduct 2011
The Firm failed to explain its fees regarding a 25% mark-up for the work. The Firm produced a bill incorporating this charge but provided no correspondence at
the onset of the work.
From our experience of dealing with Gamlins, we would not recommend this Firm to anyone.

Interesting to read your review. Experiencing very similar issues myself with Gamlins at the moment. Suspect my next port of call will be the legal ombudsman too. Well done you for calling them out and getting the right result.

We have also had a very similar experience with Gamlins in Llandudno recently over the administration of an estate.

I had an all-too-typical situation with Gamlins of a law firm being at fault in drawing up a flawed Will, then as Executors making a mess of the administration, then resisting measures to correct their shortcomings, then finally and reluctantly complying and then, of course, making a hefty charge to the estate for all their work.
