The most incompetent Solicitor that I have ever come across. Initially handled my divorce and after 7 months, I had no option but to request my file so that I could get representation elsewhere. The ignorance she exhibited in nnot answering emails from me for over 6 weeks, meant that a hearing was adjourned until 6 months later. Having sacked her in December 2020, my divorce finally was sorted at a final hearing in January 2023. My wifes ridiculous claims were rejected. The Judge commented on the issues which were initially caused by this firm and the outcome was in my favour. The additional legal and other professional costs have made my life a misery and the best part is that my wife settled at the same level that she had offered in October 2020 and which this firm had not even bothered to respond to despite all my efforts. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM

Another year and still no resolution - ongoing since 2018 - despite other legal firms being engaged to resolve the appalling legal mess made by this firm aided and abetted by Josiah Hinks Solicitors.

PLEASE DO NOT USE TESS. THE SERVICE, OR LACK OF SERVICE SHE PROVIDES IS COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE AND UNTIMELY.

When I came to see Tess last November for the free 30 minute consultation, she told me that I’d be divorced in 4 months, as my divorce is straight forward with no contesting from my stbx. My ex has opted not to use a solicitor as we are amicable and is happy with what’s been agreed between us. Fast forward 10 months and I’m still not divorced, nor do I have any idea where things are at with my divorce. The delay isn’t down to me or my stbx, or the system, it’s solely down to Tess.

Basically since the beginning, I have had to chase for updates, as weeks and months pass with no updates from her. I’ve lost count how many phone calls I’ve made to her office in the last 10 months. I’m always told that’s she in a meeting or out of the office, and not once has she returned any of my calls….not one! It’s unacceptable. It’s funny that she can find time in her diary to hold 30 minute free consultations with potential new clients, and I know this for a fact!!! But she’s too busy to call me back, or open, read and respond to any of my emails.

I’ve tried to obtain updates from her via email, and over the months I’ve sent lots, as I’ll resend my email every 2-3 weeks. I always request a read receipt so I can see when she’s read them. I’ll mark them urgent too, but that means nothing to her.

She ignores my emails, not even opening them to read. When I call her office when 3-4 weeks have passed, and I’ve resent the email, I’m told she’s just very busy and that my message will be passed on. I’ve threatened to report Tess to the Legal Ombudsman, but that falls on deaf ears.

I’ve been waiting for her to open my emails now since June. She still hasn’t opened any of my emails, nor returned any of my calls. All I want is an update on where things are. There’s no excuse for all the huge delays at each stage of my divorce by Tess, or the continuing lack of communication.

Tess is unprofessional, ignorant, incompetent, and clearly can’t handle her workload. To ignore a clients emails and phone messages continuously is downright rude and frankly appalling.

I will never recommend Tess to anyone. The stress and anxiety Tess is causing me is not what I would expect from a good solicitor. The truth is, she isn’t a good solicitor.

Having read the negative reviews regarding this firm I can only agree. I have been forced to leave a one star rating to allow this review to be published - however, I would not recommend this firm. The owner of this firm is a law unto herself - not only ignoring clients but also other professionals who have had to be engaged to sort out her mess. She ignores instruction, on an ad hoc basis uses 'information blackouts' (her term) where not only the client but also other professionals do not know or are informed of relevant and at times crucial and important information to move a case forward. Her colleague /employee - who has subsequently left this firm - was obviously hog tied from carrying out instruction due to the fact the owner would intervene and he would obviously have to follow 'her' instructions. This firm caused considerable monetary loss plus a nervous breakdown and has still not concluded/finalised the legal affairs which they were paid (in full 2021) to undertake. The owner continues to ignore other legal professionals who are endeavouring to conclude all business with this firm for the client. The owner of this firm contributes to the poor view people have of the legal profession. The other solicitors who were engaged to review her work due to major legal mistakes (obvious to a lay person) subsequently had to undertake all the legal work she was supposed to have completed and 'prepared'. Dealing with this firm (5 years) has been a complete and costly nightmare. Attempts to report this person have to date been unsuccessful with the legal ombudsman hopefully the solicitors regulatory association will be more helpful.

17/02/22 - Reviewed by Simple, straight forward divorce!

The most awful service I have had anywhere! Straight forward divorce, no children etc... The other half signed her papers in March '21.... Told it would be all sorted by Christmas..... I have heard NOTHING! I have called numerous times, emailed and still NOTHING! I suggest you go elsewhere. Appalling service! Like someone else said..... I need to contact the ombudsman!
