Very expensive, charged £100 for about 10 mins work.
Dishonest, signed a declaration that they had known me for 2+ years, when it was barely 2 minutes.
Only took cash!! I had to pop out to the cash machine.
Red flag to the HMRC, "professional" firm who only takes cash!!

Honestly, 5 Stars aren't enough. Our appointed solicitor, (who I can't name here but wish I could), was fantastic. She kept us up to date, pushed the other side (our buyers conveyencer was cheap, illiterate, and ill informed, so much so Montague even found themselves doing work for our buyers side to get it over the line). We can't recommend Montague highly enough. I only wish I could name our appointed solicitor, she was incredible. With the service you provide, you should charge more. Thank You (insert name here) from the bottom of our hearts. you know who you are, you really are amazing.

Awful solicitor's firm. Charged me a ridiculous amount of money for work done before I even signed any paperwork to agree to fees etc. Will be reporting them to Legal Ombudsman and the SRA. Do not recommend anybody to ever use these solicitors.

What a joke! Zero response to numerous calls and emails. Havnt spoken to the Solicitir once only the secretary! I will be complaining to the ombudsman.

Good for you. I reported Montague Lambert to the Ombudsman. I was a lengthy and complex investigation but after 8 months they found in my favour and the firm had to refund my fees (a very large amount) for providing such bad service. There was also compensation related to the stress caused by them.
I have also reported them to the SRA.

Case 1. Constantly ignored (or failed to respond to) emails.
Case 2. Lost documents and didn't have the courtesy to apologise and never contacted me regarding the loss and never replaced my lost memory stick. I also had to wait several months for a refund due to me.
Unless their name change brought with it an improved service, I would not recommend them.
It's a real shame because they are local and had dealt with conveyancing well - albeit slowly!

I engaged another firm to undertake my probate matters. Montague Lambert were the executors named in the will but I did not want to use them. Part of the process was for Montague Lambert to renounce their execution of the will but they (to date) have taken over two months to sign a simple form and this is still ongoing. As they have not signed the form the probate process cannot start and it is this company who is holding it all up whilst a bereaved family have to keep chasing. So glad we did not keep them as executors of the will as the service is too slow for a very simple task.

I am so drained dealing with this company. Constantly getting diverted to Incompetent PA's and ignored by the the Solicitor. Simple work took 2 months. In the end I got a discount on the fee. Nonetheless I will categorically never use them again. Wish I had looked at other reviews before giving them work.

Robert Cohen, at Montague Lambert Solicitors, recently provided legal advice to me regarding a challenging issue. Robert patiently listened to my concerns and asked many questions to ensure that all of the details were clear. His presentation of various options was clear and thoughtful, and I found his approach to be not only engaging, but very encouraging. When sorting through what tend to be difficult matters, this sort of advisement is the best, and I'm pleased to recommend Robert. You will be pleased.

Appalling. Do not deal with this company, they have completely scuppered our transaction through their total inefficiency I had to pay again to get the job done by another company, as Montague and Lambert still took their full fees even though they didn't complete the job and in fact caused us lots of problems.

I have paid for a service to be carried out by a lawyer, instead the secretary carried out the job, I haven't been able to talk once to the lawyer during the whole process, she was always unavailable.
Slow response to my queries, plenty of mistakes made with the documentation, totally unacceptable.
I would never recommend this service to anyone and I will never use it in the future.

Poor advises, slow reactions and mistakes that led my defense to struck off. Nearly lost the case (still on-going).
Got it back on to the track with lots of efforts, money, time and lose of moral energy.
Not recommending them at all.
