Where there is fee gouging, and poor service, there is ....

I have had a wretched time with Neves for over 18 months on 2 fronts. Employment and matrimonial affairs. The service and support from both parts of the business are breathtakingly poor in my opinion.

The service by the now, and well overdue for retirement Mary McEvoy was inconsistent, dubious timeliness and effectiveness. All I seem to raise with the matrimonial team in Harpenden was invoices. Please dont ask for time breakdowns, you will need to wait a few months for those at times.

Employment matters handled by Fiona Hewitt in Milton Keynes, and her protector the great Peter Kelly no less, were of little value, effectiveness or timeliness. After moving to a new lawyer a 100% satisfactory and speedy resolution to the matter was sorted. I negotiated 1/3rd of the proposed fees as no timesheets were provided to back up their billing.

You should avoid this establishment at all costs, as there seems to be a very exclusive club for their employees, and the customer is seldom first.

Terrible terrible terrible - in my opinion.

Appalling. All they seem interested in is taking money. I complained to the joint managing partner who is responsible for complaints and he couldn't even bother to respond to me. After 9 weeks I went to the Legal Ombudsman. This policy seems to be the norm as whenever I write to them I get no response. Don't think about using them unless you want grief.

SHOCKING - not interested in you as a customer they know they have your money and fail to contact you back as well as respond promptly or even within reasonable timescales. Had to call to introduce myself as their client.. made a happy experience stressful and felt very uniformed throughout

We recently engaged Trevor Kidd of Neves as our conveyancing legal executive. As usual in these matters, the route from pre-contract to completion was not without its difficulties, but throughout the entire process Trevor carried out his duties with a quiet professionalism that ensured our best interests were served at all times. We would most certainly recommend Neves to our friends and colleagues.
