The Latest That is the Mess of Charlie Sheen
(Posted on 11/03/11)
As Martin Sheen and his son, Emilio Estevez travel the UK, Sheen's other son, Charlie, continues to baffle folks around the world from his Beverly Hills home. He's now filed a $100 million lawsuit against Warner Brothers for firing him from his hit television show, Two and a Half Men. Marty Singer, Sheen's attorney, is adamant that his client has the goods to ensure a ruling in their favor. Meanwhile, Sheen continues his bizarre behaviors as his father and brother continue to voice their own concerns. This latest lawsuit follows one filed in November 2010 against porn star Capri Anderson. This lawsuit claims extortion and at least two more accusations. Anderson says Sheen choked her during a meltdown in a New York City hotel room. Most of the women in Sheen's life have reported various degrees of physical abuse over the years.
So is it drugs or a mental disorder that's keeping Sheen so far removed from reality? Earlier this week, he was filmed brandishing a machete from his rooftop as his two goddesses watched on. While many mental health experts in the U.S. have said they wouldn't rule out a mental disorder, the fact is, Sheen has had a long and very well documented history with illegal drugs.
After a series of seemingly endless interviews last week, each one a bit more disturbing than the one before, it appears now Sheen's attorney has managed to rein him in; at least for the time being. In Singer's first interview, he reminds fans and those who aren't so crazy about Sheen that he is, after all, the richest man in television. And he is. It's been reported he earned two million USD for each episode of Two and a Half Men. While many wondered what would happen to the show, some industry insiders are now saying Rob Lowe, another American actor, is being pursued for taking over for Sheen. Lowe is likely the only one who can fill the big shoes left by Sheen's big mouth.
The suit named Warner Brothers and series creator Chuck Lorre and was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. No initial court date has been set and likely won't, since these cases tend to settle out of court. Time will tell, however, for both the lawsuit and Sheen's future.
