"Organised crime has a local impact but a global reach" - Home Office minister James Brokenshire
This week, the UK is releasing its numbers associated with organised crime in the country. It's believed that criminals involved in these massive theft rings cost residents anywhere between £20 and £40bn annually. Last year alone, law enforcement officials' hard work resulted in the discovery of more than £161m in stolen property. That property includes everything from stolen jewelry to sports cars to designer clothing. But it gets worse.

One growing trend in these dynamics is the growing demand for human trafficking, child exploitation and cyber crime. Despite the obvious frustrations and loss victims feel when their jewelry is stolen, the fact is, there is nothing worse than a human trafficking ring of children. These kids grow up, those who survive, with problem-sets many medical personnel are not prepared for. They've been properly trained, of course, but the perverse nature of some of these criminals makes it difficult for the medical community to right the wrongs done to people who have been treated as a commodity, available for sale at all times. This is one reason the 2013 National Crime Agency exists.

While it's not officially "defined", once it receives clearance, you can be sure this group will hit the floor running. It will have the power to direct other law enforcement personnel to the proper charges to ensure every possible penalty these criminals face are implemented. One especially important function includes the ability to "link" various efforts, regardless of whether they're on the local levels or international levels, it's expected the improved communications will work well for both the law enforcement agencies and the legal sector as a whole. Solicitors in the UK are already applauding these changes.

Calling them "complex crimes", one spokes person said it's ready to move forward in efforts to severely handicap and ultimately annihilate these crime rings.
