Blandy & Blandy are Incredibly slow, unresponsive and do not have the necessary skills to do work successfully.

I am buying a property where the seller is using Blandy & Blandy.
I am now 5 months into this process and there is still no sign of an exchange date, let alone a completion date. Even though my side of things has been ready for months.
I spend months chasing Blandy & Blandy to get the simplest things done. They do not answer all enquiries and also answer inaccurately with very simple enquiries.
Blandy & Blandy took over a month to send the initial draft contract. This caused huge delays from the start, then Blandy & Blandy took 8 weeks to reply to enquiries. 8 weeks, Yes 2 months.
These were not complicated enquiries and when they did finally reply, it was incomplete.
I don’t understand how a solicitor can be completely unresponsive for 8 weeks.
There is no urgency or professionalism from Blandy & Blandy.

I have all communication records from my solicitor and the Estate Agent who is helping me chase Blandy & Blandy also, so it’s not a case of solicitors lying, mine has been very efficient, and I sign and return all my documents on the same day I receive them.
All I seem to be doing is waiting on Blandy & Blandy to send correct documents, we waited weeks for a reply for them to then send the wrong document. I don’t understand how a solicitor whose job it is to be thorough can make such incompetence.
I am a buyer with no chain and no delays, we are now 5 months into this transaction and still no sign of an estimate exchange date in sight.
Not only that, but I dread to think how long this is going to take to get contracts exchanged and completed based on how slow Blandy & Blandy are.

Also, it has nothing to do with Covid, as I can see from other reviews that people are having great times with Blandy & Blandy completing fast during covid.

This has caused so much frustration and ruined my timelines for many plans.

I will never use Blandy & Blandy. I warn others not too also, if any seller I am purchasing from in the future is using Blandy & Blandy I will request they change, or I will pull out of the purchase. I suggest others do the same.

Everything I’ve stated in this review is factual. I have all documents and communication records to show it is factual.

I recently have spoken to the seller, and they have given me more information about the delays in 1 conversation than 5 months of waiting on Blandy & Blandy.

could not get any sence from them when trying to find out if they could help in a legal matter. Got the feeling they wanted to avoid a case. Weak and frankly that godness i went elsewhere. Some firms just want an easy time

We used Blandy & Blandy to buy our home and sell our old property and are so glad that we did. An excellent service, great communication and a friendly team. We firmly believe in you get what you pay for. When you’re paying a small fortune for a house and paying agents , maybe surveyors and a removal company good money why scrimp on the legal stuff that really matters?! Highly recommended.

I have used the services of Blandy and Blandy twice and both times experienced great service. In 2012 they helped me with a small matter. It was the first time I had approached a solicitor in my life and they were happy to help with any concerns I had, advising as necessary. I again used their services in 2017 and I saw a different solicitor, who was equally professional; courteous, responsive and dealt with a protracted and difficult situation in a delicate manner.
I would not hesitate to use their services again. I’m have given four stars rather than five as it would help a great deal if their opening times were longer- for people who work and don’t want to take annual leave to attend. It would also be great if they provided parking.

I used Blandy & Blandy for conveyancing on a house purchase in late 2016 / early 2017. Initially, they made a good impression, hence my choice of them over a number of local competitors. However, it all went down hill from there onwards. They were unresponsive throughout the process and seemed fundamentally not to understand that they were working for me as their client. I had to insist on a meeting with a senior manager at one stage just to get some sort of responsiveness. The icing on the cake was when they incorrectly advised me that the house I was purchasing was not in a conservation area, when in fact it was, which meant I had to recommission architects' plans at more expense. Not only did they not apologise for this most basic of errors, but they refused to answer my emails when I asked for an account of how this error occurred. This was a truly poor and unprofessional service.
