Conveyancing/property

22/12/25 - Reviewed by Anonymous
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Would not recommend to my worst enemy. I was quoted £4,150 for a basic residential conveyance. I have purchased a number of properties in the exact same circumstances and from experience know should typically cost between £1,000 and £1,500. When I challenged this absurd quote they attempted to justify it by lying and saying all other matters would be put on hold whilst dealing with my purchase. Even if this were true (which they have now admitted it isn’t), it would be breach of duty to their other clients! Imagine if that were your elderly grandparent or Son/Daughter buying their first home, they didn’t know any better and paid 2-3x more than something should cost – its disgusting. To add insult to injury, you might expect you get a superior service for this EXTORTIONATE price? Well think again. Despite giving them all the correct and relevant information they still gave legal advice that was completely WRONG!!! When I tried to point this out to them, rather than any constructive engagement they attempted to condescend me as if I were stupid. Having made a complaint, they didn’t even follow their own complaints procedure and then conveniently forgot to address any of the things in my complaint. Its laughable. When you are buying or selling a property it is stressful at the best of times and you need someone you can trust – Chafes Hague Lambert are not those people. I HAVE READ A NUMBER OF OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS ALL WITH VERY SIMILAR EXPERIENCES.
