To grant Mr Alan Riley a practising certificate for the practice 2009/2010 subject to the conditions that he undertakes courses on the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct 2007 (and dealing with Client Care) and Practice Management approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority within 6 months of the date of notification of this decision and shall provide confirmation of his attendance (in the form of a certificate or letter of attendance) at such courses within one month of their attendance.
Reasons/basis
In light of Mr Riley being reprimanded by an Adjudicator on 22 June 2009 for breaches of the Solicitors’ Financial Services (SCOPE) Rules 2001, the Solicitors’ Financial Services (Code of Business) Rules 2001, the Solicitors’ Practice Rules 1990 and the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct 2007, the SRA was satisfied that it is in the interests of the public to require Mr Buchanan to attend the above named courses which will ensure that he receives up to date training and enable him to carry out a more efficient practice.
