Having used Clowes & Co since 2018 where I was always represented by the same specialist
commercial property solicitor. The service provided was always to a high standard and I never
encountered any issues during this time.
In December 2023 Clowes & Co were appointed to complete the legals on a commercial lease.
Unfortunately for me with no consultation with myself this work was passed over to the senior
partner. A less able non commercial property solicitor.
I have appointed a worked with solicitors for 25 years and this was the first time I received no
introduction call and had no conversation to discuss the case in hand where any points could be
raised & addressed.
My concerns were raised early on in the process with the senior partner and again as a complaint at
the end.
In July 2024 court action was taken against Clowes & Co. In October the judge found in my favour
and in November Clowes & Co paid the judgement debt and refunded my fees paid, costs and
interest.
It is my opinion the Clowes & Co is a no frills law firm. This may been fine for some basic
day to day property transactions where limited skills are required to complete but when things are
slightly different, more complex and minor problems arise, an expert in that field is needed and
Clowes & Co do not meet these standards.
As for a client having to take their solicitor to court to recoup their fees and winning his case speaks
volumes and I cannot recommend this firm.

Brilliant through and through. They chased the other solicitors along, always took my calls, called me back when they said they would and kept me informed every step of the way.

My solicitor went on maternity leave and another picked it up smoothly and saw it through to completion.

They are professional but down to earth and spent time going over issues and options.

Can't recommend highly enough.
