I was engaged to carry out enquiry work for this company. The work was completed but the solicitor refused to pay. It was a small amount but that became irrelevant. I reported the solicitor to the SRA who stated they were unable to take action due to what the solicitors said. The solicitors told blatant lies which because it was one word against another, were impossible to disprove. I decided if the solicitor was prepared to lie as she did, not to waste money with a county court claim. Instead as I am entitled to do I sent a reminder for payment each month hoping the solicitor would remain ethical and pay for the services I had provided.
Imagine my surprise when I had a call from the police stating that my reminders for payment were seen as harrassment by the solicitor and so I was asked to desist from sending further requests for payment.
Naturally I have stopped sending requests as asked, however what is it coming to when solicitors act in this way and seek 'protection' from an over stretched police force, who certainly have more important things to do than assist immoral solicitors
