My wife had an accident at work. She chose Emsley Solicitors to represent her against her former employer. She believed that they only charged 25% of the cost. Emsley Solicitors negotiated £2,000 as a compensation. They charged my wife's employer with costs totaling over £10.000. They paid my wife ... £1016. So out of the total amount obtained from the employer, they paid my wife... 10%. Absolutely we not recommend them to anyone.

I contacted this solicitor regarding making a claim due to a business's negligence which resulted in me ending up in hospital with a broken leg. They initially advised me this would be a simple case to prove and I would be awarded compensation for my injurys. This so called simple case turned into a very long and drawn out nightmare! Emsleys were not proactive or knowledgeable and after discussing the case further down the line with them they seemed to start putting pressure on me to keep providing more supporting evidence for my claim, it was likely they underestimated the resistance of the business we were claiming against. The conclusion was that Emsleys gave up pursuing the case. Two wasted years of time and effort on this so called 'simple case' and they told me it wasn't worth them pursuing it any further.

I do not recommend to use Emsleys for their Conveyancing services. In acting on my behalf in a house purchase they failed to register my back garden in the property title so essentially i owned a house but not the back garden which caused huge problems, delays and nearly the loss of sale of the property when i came to sell it and the issue was highlighted. I am now in the process of trying to claim back the costs i incurred as a result of this and their complaints process is as shocking as their conveyancing...slow, unhelpful and unwilling to accept their mistake and rectify. I would AVOID at all costs

If I could leave I minus 5 stars I would what a load of rubbish followed by more rubbish, mistake after mistake then told the woman who was taking care of my case was having lots of personal problems, what a joke this company is, Punch and Judy could have done a better job, Have now gone else where, over £3000.00 out of pocket and the only thing they have done is caused me stress, made a mess of things and cost me great expense and would have cost me a lot more had I not put an end to this , avoid this company of cowboys like the plague, take my advice you would do a better job doing it yourself The woman who was dealing with my case was clueless , other people's stuff sent to my address, My stuff lost and sent the the wrong address , nasty phone calls demanding money upfront all the time, it's been one thing after another.
