Deeply troubling experience. I raised legitimate leaseholder concerns, and instead of transparency, I was met with dismissive, intimidating correspondence and invoices that did not relate to my own matters. The solicitor repeatedly misquoted lease clauses and appeared not to understand basic provisions of landlord and tenant law. I have reported the conduct to the Solicitors Regulation Authority and other relevant bodies. I would strongly urge anyone dealing with this firm to proceed with extreme caution, keep full written records, and seek independent advice before responding to any correspondence.

I cannot recommend Carolynn Tan highly enough. I had a high conflict, complicated divorce with someone who would only engage intermittently and when he did spouted lie after lie. Made all the more complicated by a 'less than', and defaulted upon, legal separation agreement drawn up by another solicitor. If I had had Carolynn from the outset then it would not have been so drawn out. Carolynn was incredibly efficient, highly communicative and made sure I understood each stage and the costs involved. When I had divorce fatigue she kept me motivated. Everything she said would happen, did happen and I even received remuneration for my costs involved in not being able to re-mortgage. Most importantly I kept my home. Carolynn came recommended by a friend and did not disappoint.

Dealing with the estate of a loved one is a task few people relish, but having on board a solicitor who is both understanding and approachable can make a significant difference to the situation.

In fact, her experience at solicitors’ practices had already given her an understanding of how the probate process worked, particularly as she had helped clients with probate matters herself.

She has nothing but praise for Guillaumes and, in particular, partner Neil Sapsed, who handled her mother’s estate.

She says: “Neil was absolutely super to talk to. He did everything I had asked him to and he had even answered my questions before I got there.

“Neil was extremely approachable. When I used to work for solicitors, I loved to break down boundaries with clients, which worked, and this is what they did.

“They never kept me waiting; my messages would always go through and my calls were always returned. If Neil wasn’t available, then his secretary, Jan, always made herself available to me.”
