Will and probate

I strongly advise against using Gullands Solicitors for trust and estate matters. In my experience one of the solicitors involved was reported by the Legal Ombudsman to the Solicitors Regulation Authority for "unacceptable behaviour" which resulted in a sanction for "significant misconduct". The Head of the Private Client Department paid funds out of the Gullands client account without agreed executor instructions as confirmed by the Legal Ombudsman. Do not trust these people with your affairs at what can be very sensitive times. They took money from their own account to pay their own fees. Do not trust Gullands!!!!

I’m not happy at all after My sister took her own life my Mum wanted a New Will done . Mum was terminally ill but gave her instructions on the phone . I have emails I sent to her Solicitor but she said she didn’t have capacity to come out sooner even though I expressed Mum was end of life because of this her Estate goes to her Grandchildren but as her only Daughter left she wanted me to have it . Also the Executor of her estate is my Sisters husband and none of her family speak to me .My mother did not want this to happen. I was told I’m gifted something but will I ever find out . I shall take this further as I’ve been treated so unfairly and her Solicitor has not been helpful at all this could have been avoided if she had done what my Mum wanted .

They stalled for 2 years in actually paying out an inheritance just to ensure we were all so poor we couldn't contest the will during this time & had to accept TS personal input.
They have made an absolutely fortune out of a VERY ill old man & continue to do so . No integrity whatsoever & made the grieving process far worse than necessary, even undermining the wishes of loved ones after death causing a family fall out .
Mocked up a "Deed Of Variation" that basically cons all parties involved , particularly HMRC but they know all the loop holes around these things & get a massive payout.
May as well leave your entire estate to them if you make out a will with Gullands ...

I am sorry to hear about your experience - regrettably in my experience Gullands are devoid of any ethical leadership whatsoever - the experience I had was that Gullands were actively advising against the interests of some of the beneficiaries and concealed a property transaction from one of the executors. They also paid funds out of the client account without agreed executor instructions. Whilst one of the solicitors involved was sanctioned by the SRA one of them remains as a partner. Do not trust these people.......

Please will you explain why your former Chairman was sanctioned for "significant misconduct"?

Avoid this company at all cost ,instructed them on a separation issue after the meeting they sent all the meeting notes to my ex partner printed word for word totally exasperating the situation so any chance of reconciliation lost , not a word of apology when I confronted them about it was met with the arrogance of a bullying headmaster just a horrible company there are plenty of solicitors around use someone other than Gullands
