In my opinion, HC Solicitors are not an HONEST firm. Back in 2010, I went to see the Employment Solicitor in HC. He was a nice gentleman and told about the fees and asked for initial payment of £400/£500 to start up the case, unfortunately, I did not have that sort of money. The gentleman then asked me if I had a legal cover with my home insurance, which I had. I showed ( later date ) my insurance policy and he took a copy of that and told me that I do not have to worry because they will get the money from my insurer. We were keeping it touch each other time to time, then in the month of Oct/Nov 2010 the solicitor called me and said there is a good news and a bad news. The good news was my employer solicitor has offered to settle the case out of court and the bad news was my insurer refuse to pay.
Initially, I did not want to settle the case because what they have put me through and what I have been through, I just wanted them to be punished. He then told me it does not work like that if you go to the court then you will get compensation if you win. So I said I do not want to settle for that amount of money? So he said if you go the court and if you lose the case then you have to pay to their solicitor and you
have to pay us over £2600 and you do not have the funds so I would suggest you to accept the offer and we will deduct our fees and if you don't and go to the court and if you lose the case then you will be bank corrupt. I was very confused and I knew that I can not lose my case and my employer will not go to the court which I can not disclose due to the legal reason but at the same time I was scared for getting bank corrupt so I had to accept their offer but I was never happy.
Recently I was talking to my friend about my insurer that they did not pay my fees even though I was fully covered. He then asked me to contact my insurer ( I did not renew after that year). So, I did and they told me that they have paid £240+ vat what HC solicitors have told them to pay.
I am again confused and do not know who is telling the truth. I went
to SC solicitors end of Sept 2016 and spoke to one of the staff and after several email correspondences, I came to know that SC solicitor was told them to pay £240 + vat.
Now, in my opinion, my insurer was not wrong but SC solicitors were
so I complain and was getting fed up with not getting any reply
so I have a complaint to Legal Ombudsman.
I heard from HC solicitors but they are lying and I will be taking this case to further because I do not like when someone is irresponsible, negligent and do not tell the truth, they only know how to take your money. So I will never ever recommend anybody to HC solicitors.
