On Friday, 7th August 2009, I was knocked off my bicycle by a passing car. I was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital where it was found that I had a fractured skull, 5 fractured ribs and associated serious cuts and bruises to my body. I remained in hospital for several weeks and was eventually transferred to Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham. Upon recommendation we instructed Andy on the10th August 2011. From that date onwards my wife and I were totally supported by Andy Shaw who remained in almost daily contact via e-mail and telephone. Andy also came to visit me at home, spending several hours discussing the way forward, explaining how he would bring in professional expertise, personal care, medical and scientific evidence to assess the accident. During the whole process we were kept fully informed of the outcome, evidence and results and were given copies of all the relevant documents and advised of the next step forward. In early March 2011, we were offered a generous financial settlement, orchestrated by the negotiations of Andy, however a few days later, after returning the signed acceptance form, we were telephoned by Andy who informed us that he had negotiated a further £4,000.00 on our behalf bringing the claim to an end on the 19th March 2011. We know that we have been extremely fortunate to have had such a consummate PI lawyer in Andy acting on our behalf but we have also been blessed by having had his support, trust, friendship and loyalty throughout. We cannot ever thank him enough. We are therefore more than happy to give a reference to anyone unfortunate enough to be needing the assistance of a PI lawyer and would not hesitate in recommending Andy Shaw from Higgs & Sons as the one to choose. Whilst serving in the prison service, I was severely injured on duty. My injuries were so significant and severe that they caused my career to be cut short. I was medically retired and basically abandoned by the Prison Service and my Union. They left me feeling helpless, alone and fragile. My solicitor was extremely sympathetic and down to earth. He worked with me to ensure a just outcome rather than dictating the way things should be. The Defendant denied liability and fought the case aggressively. In turn my solicitor never gave up and fought equally aggressively. The medical evidence was difficult and my financial losses difficult to quantify. Throughout the case my solicitor and his team kept me informed and regularly updated and supported as the case progressed. I am pleased to say I received 100% of my compensation and a substantial award, I am completely satisfied and could not have wished for a better outcome to my claim

On the 16th January 2004 I was out on a night out with my friends. After being picked up I was involved in a road traffic accident. As a result I sustained a severe head injury. The person driving the car left me to die and ran off. I was on a coma for 4 months.

My family ensured that a solicitor experienced in dealing with head injury cases was appointed to represent me. He was superb. He kept in regular contact with me to ensure I was looked after and any needs I had were addressed by the insurance company. He ensured that I was provided with suitable temporary accommodation whilst steps were taken to find me permanent accommodation. I was also provided with 24 hour care whilst I was recovering. Most of my treatment was funded privately and paid for by the insurance company.

At the end of my case, I received all of my compensation which absolutely no deductions. My solicitors cost were met by the insurance company
