Totally unprofessional and none caring, I would like to hear from other people who have been dropped in the middle of proceedings and just before a court case for stupid reasons that have no legal basis. I would not use these people especially if you are a victim of abuse and can recommend highly professional solicitors that know what they are doing and confident all the way through in what they do. With no ifs or buts or maybes and listen to your instructions and requests.

My solisitor from Heald Nickinson, Camberley, couldn't have done more! He was always available to contact via phone or email even whilst he was on leave. Everything was arranged for the courts and I can't express how grateful I am. I can't imagine it's easy to be personable and professional at the same time.

We have used the services of Heald Nickinson for nearly 20 years and most recently on the sale of a property. Gendy Thomas successfully guided us through the somewhat complex process, ably supported by Kate & Amy. As usual, we knew we were in good hands and have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Dealt with several of the team for property sale, property purchase and also other areas of law. The property purchase in particular was complicated, a listed building and throughout the process they gave excellent, practical advice - felt extremely comfortable with the expertise - the actual final exchange and completion was completed smoothly. Thank you to Charlotte, Gendy, Kate and also the reception team plus Sarah Jay for her work on another legal matter prior to the property transaction which was my first contact with this firm.

would definitely NOT recommend this firm of solicitors. In my opinion they were rude, obstructive, created problems instead of suggesting solutions, and made the completion process on the sale of a high value property an absolute stressful nightmare.
Due to my solicitor (Senior Partner) not processing certain undertakings in time, payments into Heald Nickinson could then not be processed on the day of receipt. Despite numerous urgent emails and attempted phone calls on the Monday after, we were unable to speak to anyone at Heald Nickinson and various fees for additional interest and recalculating of various redemption fees were about to be charged again!
I was literally on the verge of calling the police (as the telephone lines to HN were dead) when I asked my partner to drop everything and get to their offices (I was working away). She refused to leave their reception until the transfers were made and was there approximately 3.5 hours trying to sort out this monumental mess.
She has video footage taken in their reception of a solicitor completely unconnected to us (and only consults for HN!) trying to sort out these payments, shouting at my solicitor on the mobile, telling him to be quiet and listen whilst he tried to facilitate the payments.
Huge sums of money using scraps of paper with account details scribbled on were being shown to my partner for verification whilst on the phone, as our solicitor couldn't find the emails with all the relevant details on which had been sent the previous week and already verified. She was asked at one point if there was another account the money could be paid into, she hadn't even been asked for ID, she could have been anyone!
My solicitor spoke to me as a client, and dealt with third parties with such rudeness and arrogance that I spent huge amounts of my time just smoothing feathers in his wake, and having to then redo the work I had paid him to do as people refused to work with him.
I would specifically ask him to telephone rather than email on urgent matters as was away from my desk and access to emails often. He would completely ignore this request and send obtuse emails.
More seriously, when I requested a Statement of Account from the Senior Partner, I was informed they were too busy, the accounts department was short staffed due to Covid etc. etc. This was nonsense, it was confirmed by another solicitor that this information was at their fingertips anytime a client requested this information. I requested this information approximately 5 times in writing and was just repeatedly rebuffed.
Before the completion date I asked what the ball park likely completion fee from HN would be on the day so I could organise finances. I started asking for this figure approximately 1 week before the expected day of completion. I was finally given this info. approx. 2 hours before completion and of course this left me no time to check that this amount against that originally quoted (it was not, the figure was significantly more). Of course I then didn't have time to disagree with this figure which was taken straight out of the monies in without agreement. When I stated I didn't agree with the amount taken, I was informed on email that 'he wouldn't adjust the amount charged by one penny".
There were countless other issues with this company, I have certainly never dealt with any firm of solicitors, in my opinion, who were more rude or inept. I have not given this review lightly.
After the experiences outlined above I tried to talk to the other senior partner, Dermott Flynn at HN. He refused to either talk via zoom or phone unless we put all our concerns in writing so he could 'consider the issues' (again, the client doing the work). We have informed him that the Law ombudsman will be in touch instead.
We most definitely would NOT recommend this company's services. 1* is too high a review in my opinion, my advice would be to go elsewhere and find a solicitor who are competent and completely transparent with their fee structure.

I would never have expected to receive such appalling service from a company who is recommended by developers. There is zero communication from the very beginning, it would take over a week to get a response to any emails. My calls would not get answered and even when I requested a call back I would never receive one, the stress of just trying to get hold of someone to speak to made the entire headache of trying to purchase a property a complete nightmare. The receptionist was consistently rude whenever you tried to get through to someone and there was a distinct feeling of constantly speaking with people who don't want to help you and would rather not have the extra work to do. I would never ever recommend this firm to anyone looking to find support and guidance in a matter that is important to you because you will not receive it.

I used this firm to buy a new build investment property and was extremely impressed with Luke Roberts the solicitor handling my case. He was always available and helped me exchange within a very tight developer imposed timeframe. Would defintely use again.

If i could give 0 stars, I would. Luke Roberts is possibly one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I am honestly baffled that he is still in a job. I called to obtain an update on an ongoing matter, and all I received was verbal abuse and pure rudeness- extremely unprofessional. Definitely WOULD NOT recommend.

Used them twice, will use again.
I first used this company for the legal side of of an office fit out in central London, under referral from my brother. I had a good experience with this solicitors - no complaints, so I used them for the purchase of my first home.
I have a busy day job as I can imagine all good solicitors do, so naturally we'd have the odd afternoon playing phone tag trying to get hold of one another, but nothing that stalled my process or delayed the purchase of my home at any stage. As this was the purchase of my first place I had a lot of questions along the way and all were answered in simplistic terms.
I will be using this firm again.

I found the whole process with the firm particualrly tortuous. They deal with clients as if the are working "pro bono" rather than for paying clients. Poor communication, no updates unless you constantly chase and very quick to blame other parties for intransigence.

Don't use this solicitors! They were incredibly unhelpful and rude throughout the whole process of buying our first property. We were continually chasing them, they missed important discrepancies in documents and in some incidences lied about not receiving documents to avoid doing the work. Every phone call or email we had with them was rushed and rude and we never had any confidence in what they were doing. They are not cheap so we expected a much higher standard of service than we received.

I work within financial services and often deal with solicitors and I must say this by far is the worst company I have dealt with. In particular a solicitor Luke Roberts, you are constantly chasing him to get an update and he is unable to stick to any deadlines he has given. In my opinion for the price you pay you do not get the service that is promised. He was not helpful at all in the purchase of my property more of an issue than help.
