If I could leave a zero-star rating, I most certainly would. I strongly do not recommend this firm to anyone, particularly for buying or selling a house. The poor service and lack of proactive progress, especially from Barbara, have been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Our experience has been nothing short of unacceptable.
Our emails and questions often go unanswered, and we're constantly given false promises followed by vague information or updates. This experience has been frustrating and unprofessional.

Promised over and over not to sale property below with restriction and allowed it to go through for monetary gain.
In doing so they have broken the law.
Been strung along for 1 year for monies owed to me that were never paid.
Couldn't really call it a service

Outstanding service from the Wills & Probate department (Thomas Murray). Always there to answer any questions or just be an ear during a very overwhelming and stressful few months ( often out of office hours and days). It is a comfort to know that the deceased person’s estate is in the hands of this firm and individual. I cannot recommend Holley & Steer enough. I don’t honestly know if or how I would have got through one of the most difficult situations I’ve ever had to go through.

Bought a little flat in highbridge few months back and was told that burnham on seas number one firm to use was Holley and steer .
Made contact with the office and Brendon Steer was on the job so quick .have to say very prompt and reliable service in deed , ( real old school )
Can only recommend the
firm 100% , forget the rest , use Burnhams best ..
Have recommended to many business people since and I know all have used and are very happy,
Keep up the good work guys ,5 stars

Very pleased with the service I received. My calls and emails were answered quickly and all questions and queries made were answered. Have used these solicitors a few times and never had any issues and will continue to use them in the future. A very efficient team

Absolute disgrace! The vendors whom we are trying to purchase from have instructed Holley and Steer. It took them 7 weeks after the sale was agreed to send us incomplete paperwork. For the last 6 months they have frequently not replied to our solicitor and have completed incorrect paperwork for the land registry. We have lost a lot of money in our solicitor fees, full structural survey and storage costs due to these clowns and now pulling out of the purchase of what would have been our dream home. Shame on you!

I completely agree with your review. They are the worst Solicitors I have ever had to deal with. They are impossible to get hold of and even when you have made a complaint against them, they still don't respond. Its all down to the Legal Ombudsman now.

Initial engagement after my Father's death was good, but then stopped after 3 months. Hooley & Steer are executors of my Fsther's estate and I have been waiting 6 months for them to answer so fairly basic questions. All emails and phones calls are ignored and not returned. Even the request for their complaints procedure which they are obliged to give us. The only email we have received was a potted history of their practice and an insight into their resourcing issues.

P Dally - we have experienced exactly the same. It has now been 18 months since my mother passed. It is very tedious but also very upsetting as we would like closure and some basic answers to updates. There have also been some serious errors made by Holley and Steer showing their incompetence in managing estates.

Awful service. Never responds to calls, made a huge number of errors and charged us over £10k for being executors for my parent’s estate. . I would not recommend this firm for anyone considering making a will. Their incompetence, huge delays and lack of professionalism has added significant stress to my family at what was already such a difficult time.

The service and communication when selling my home was almost non existent. My calls and messages were never returned and I was never kept up to date with the process unless I complained to my Estate agent about it. Just really poor service.

I experienced exactly the same. The ‘service’ was appalling and the attitude high handed and rude. They do not deserve to be in business. I recommend using another firm. Any firm other than H and S.
