I was in the unfortunate position of being on the other side of the transaction ie they acted for the seller of a house, and i used an actual solicitor -despite the glowing reviews , Dominic Reeve is NOT a solicitor , he does not even have a law degree -the process was drawn out by their failure to answer queries , irrelevant information supplied and rude responses.I have dealt with hundreds of law firms in a professional capacity, and this is one of the worst. I had to go through the venders estate agents constantly to find out what was going on, for them to ring the vendors and ask questions and finally i had to give an ultimatum to exchange or we would withdraw -queries on planning permission for a gate , a housebuilders warranty and other issues ignored -presumably they are cheap, because no way are they worth paying for anything.

The company use untrained admin staff pretending to be senior legal staff. They are not solicitors and you get run around the block and waste a lot of time getting messed about as they do not understand.
Residential conveyancing is very basic of course, a checklist but my experience and investigation ascertained they are just using admin staff who do not understand the underlying issues.
Of course everyone busy at moment with Covid but their incompetence using basic admin people was shocking.
I had the buyer’s have to contact me as their solicitors knew a problem with the HPL team selling my property.
The owner/Director failed to resolve the issue and within 4 working days it turned out the admin assistant working on my sale was an assistant to the operations manager. None of these three people were solicitors.
Wise the admin assistant was signing off her emails as the operation ms manager, who then didn’t return direct dial voicemails. Basically you get zero contact from them unless of their choosing
Per there website it seems they only have 2 solicitors and everyone else is admin.
