In general, but with certain notable exceptions (Martin), there was, effectively, no 'service'. No interest whatsoever was taken in the facts of the case, information regarding the direction of the case was almost non-existent and promised responses by telephone or letter were never forthcoming. The (correct) positive outcome was absolute luck for which we have to thank a plaintiff who changed a number of aspects of her evidence in the witness box, an astute judge and 'twelve good men and true' (actually eight women). On reflection, this company and its head of criminal law department were a disgrace (but, as stated, with one exception).
