Despite there being quite a lot of positive reviews out there for this firm, I'm sad to say this was far from what we have experienced with JKC Lawyers in the ongoing family court case with my daughter. The only positive outcome we have had since April 2024 with JKC was the granting of a non-molestation order. The remainder of our experience has been so poor, that despite two emails stating that we wish the case to be properly and robustly represented in court, there has been a total lack of interest in the case that our solicitors come across as not only meek but lacking in basic knowledge of UK family law. They stand and say very little while the opposition seem to make their demands, and this has gone on long enough. For example, a Scott Schedule was sent to her to fill in with no support, no advise at all apart from “just fill this in and get it back to us”. Of course, they rejected it for not being filled in properly and we were asked to do it again and have it back within 3 days – again no assistance or advice as to how this is meant to be filled in. Emails not responded to for days at a time. Emails stating, "Please see attached urgent letter from X’ solicitors. Please can I have your instructions on this?" with no assistance or help as to how we should be responding. We were assigned a different solicitor (trainees or so it appeared) at almost every court appearance who seemed to have no knowledge of the history of our case and had to run through the entire thing all over again at every meeting. The final straw was at the last court session outcome, my daughter's solicitor said (unbelievably) "You just need to bend over and do what he wants for now". My daughter did that for 6 years and suffered a narcissistic and coercive controlling abuser. To say that to her was one step too far and she was distraught to hear this coming from her own council. I spoke to an independent family law barrister who advised me to change council immediately as this was an unacceptable lack of care and due diligence plus there has been a complete lack of robust legal representation. I'm glad to say we have now done exactly that. If you end up with JKC Lawyers as your council, please be aware and ensure you are receiving the service you deserve. They certainly did not appear to care about our case at all.
