Concerning: The Estate of Frank S Macaskie (London Lawyer for 40 years.) THIS IS A CRISIS
They were given papers my papers which Frank gave to me for safe-keeping and has stated so in the Will: it was crystal clear the papers were to held to my order to deal with my Frank's estate, who was my Life Partner. He was domiciled in the UK and I understand Probate involves paying the tax owed due to the 7 year ruling then apply for Probate in November 2018 and to date, 4 Jan 2020, they haven't even got a tax reference number from the tax office which I got with a phone call. Even though Frank and I dealt with all the finances and laid everything out clearly for them ie what had to be done, before he died with a schedules of assets etc. I am now having to deal with Probate myself and now they refuse to return my papers or contact me to let me know what the hell is going on. I know it's Christmas but I have been writing to them for months and their secretary writes saying the partner's away on holiday. I very concerned and I cannot bury Frank properly (we had a service at the Church) but I want to bury his ashes but I cannot until his estate matters are finalised. His father was a Judge after the last War in Germany and he was a London Solicitor for 40 years: this is an attrocious legacy. I don't know if they're anti-gay or just hate him because he was a successful lawyer or what I just do not know. I am Executor and I believe i have a right to know each step. I am just accepting Frank's loss after all these months and getting my head together to deal with matters myself. I live abroad which makes things ten times harder. I have written to the Legal Ombudsman who haven't sent a response to my email either as the Law Society complaints department asks that you contact them first. I am old myself and sick with worry - this whole matter is making me worse. I am just anxious to get all matters dealt with and finally have a burial service for him, they have made the whole thing an ordeal for me by not telling me what's going on. Since I am the Executor I believe they have a right to inform me. People - please tell me if you know what I should do now?
