I read the negative reviews and would never have used Nick Brown at NB Law but for ease went with him as an extranged family member chose him. Look at the timescales and lack of repsonse and then wonder if you can wait 68 days to await money owed to you?

The completion of the house sale was 17th March 2025 and whilst initially I gave time for completion of paperwork it started to become apparent that things were not moving quickly. 1st April 2025 Nick Brown said "I’ll have the accounts sorted in the next day or so and the funds sent." On 16th May 2025 I had still not received any money or a copy of the financial statement. On 21st May 2025 received a test payment of £1 expecting the remaining money following quickly which it did not. I started to put short timescales in place and only received outstanding money when stating 5pm Friday 23rd May as a deadline. I received the money but have still never received the financial statement and so I am unsure how much money I was due.

I used nick Brown, at NB Law, I would definitely not recommend them , I made numerous calls text messaging, I had very little response full of promises and excuses, and still nothing done no updates barely any return calls went on for over six months to do a straightforward lease most frustrating experience , I’ve had to get another solicitor in the end.

For first time buyers we couldn't have picked a more shabby solicitor than Nick from NB Law. Nick made the process very difficult from the beginning and only added to the stress. NB law is cheap but certainly not worth the money and we wont be using them ever again!! Not only was the process slowed down by Nick due to his poor time keeping and admin, but even on the day we were due to move in to our new property he didn't bother to contact us to inform us the sale had gone through at 10am. It was only at 12pm when the vendors messaged me to let me know. He was so unhelpful throughout the entire process and barely communicated with us. When we rang him to chase him up he was rude and arrogant. To top it off we are 9 months on since we moved into our new property and we still haven't recieved our land registry.

Will and probate

This organisation should be avoided at all costs. Nick Brown was holding a Will that I was named in as executor. When I was required to be in possesion of the will I called Nick Brown who advised me that I should write to him for it to be released which I did the same day. The Will was not sent - I ended up phoning Nick Brown multiple times over approx a four week period [and I also sent a follow up e mail to which he did not reply]. I spoke with him again on Saturday 4th May when he said he would send the documents. Nothing arrived and I called him again on Friday 10th May and asked him to confirm exactly when he would post it - he stated that it would be sent recorded delivery on Friday 10th or Monday 13th. Nothing was sent on Friday 10th, I e mailed him at 13.42 on Monday 13th - no reply was received by approx 16.30 so I called again and it was clear that there was no plan to post the documents that day either. One of his staff called me back after this phone call to check my address and it was eventually sent. The document had a letter attached asking me acknowledge safe receipt. Nick Browns phone manner is disgusting - he was found to be extremely rude and blunt by both myself and family members that had called him during this period.
