Pity I had to give the Barry branch 1 star. But necessary in order to review.
We can only express our frustration and disappointment at Passmore’s (Barry) persistent failure to communicate in any way with the executor or beneficiaries regarding settling my mother’s estate.
They have continued to ignore the executor for 13 months of correspondence or return any of her many, many phone calls.
Considering my mother passed away over a year ago, they have sadly failed to provide the services one would expect, especially as the case is neither sizeable or complex.
It has also come to light that information was requested from Passmore’s 6 weeks ago to enable my mother’s investments to be released. Passmore’s also ignored this request for information, resulting in yet another unnecessary delay in settling the estate. This is nothing less than negligence.
Now they have asked the executor for ID before they can proceed. This is information they should have known they would need over a year ago as they claim to be proficient in dealing with wills and probate.
We have asked them to explain their shocking bad service, and requested a copy of the complaint’s procedure, as it is our intention to report Passmore’s for incompetence, to the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Legal Ombudsman – we have proof that Passmore’s have dragged their feet unnecessarily in what is already a very distressing situation for my family.
My mother would be devastated to know that the very people she entrusted her estate to and who she thought were professional have conducted themselves so badly.
I trust that when the estate is finally settled, that the monies include any interest accrued over the past year - and their invoice - reflects the lackadaisical way in which they have operated.
They are a shambles, and definitely a company to avoid.

Dreadful service, they never return emails or phonecalls. When promissed a response they never get back to you.

I used these Solicitors during my divorce in 2017-2019 which involved domestic violence. The treatment myself and my two sons received was disgusting, I have never been treated so badly by someone other than my ex-husband. The prejudice and dehumanization, the act of being treated like nothing on the bottom of their shoe, exacerbated and compounded my PTSD, anxiety, stress and depression through which I received off my ex-husband. I implore anyone NOT to use them especially in a divorce involving domestic violence.

They know nothing of the circle of abuse, methods which occur, the ‘drip drip’ effect or the fact that the presence of my two sons was of utmost importance, but despite this they still tried to separate them from me. They made decisions that I did not agree with and even made decisions without my knowledge. So much more happened but my Barrister and Solicitor criticising my eldest son’s inability to get a job because he is disabled for over 15 year is abhorrent.

I have recently moved house from Cardiff but the abuse still continues... (Apparently it was a “normal divorce”)

I've recently had the unfortunate opportunity to experience the services of Passmores solicitors regarding a grant of probate.
I will not go into the saga of their sheer ineptitude. However, I can honestly say they are perhaps the most unprofessional company I have had the ill fortune to deal with.
You have been warned.
