Terrible., we tried to engage a solicitor we had previously used from the Nantwich office. We were told now all new home sales were handled through the new home team based in Northwich.
We tried to have a face to face meeting after completing and supplying all the requested information but no one was available.
We were asked to complete numerous forms repeatedly, a number of mistakes encountered with very poor communication.
We were left feeling we were a process not a customer.
Added cost was added to the original quote of £1,800 approx.
Never again.

You can never get through to them, you leave a message and they do not get back to you.
Their conveyancing team need to contact their clients, they are holding everything up and looks like we are going to lose the house as it has been over 6 months and we are having to chase them all the time, absolutely ridiculous.
I have spoken to many others who are having problems with Poole Alcock.
I cannot understand the good reviews on here, I would definitely not recommend them at all.
Beware as they were recommended by the estate agent Timothy A Brown.
Because of their unprofessionalism looks like we will lose our buyer so the whole thing will collapse

AVOID at all costs!!!!! Do NOT use them!!

I have used them twice now and both times had a bad experience! I sold my business through them and was told my bill would be about £1500, the bill ended up being almost 5k.

Have just had the exact same experience with them reading over my divorce petition. They have ended up almost double to read over it than the Solictor who write the entire thing and sorted out the divorce!!

They ignored most of my questions when I queried the bill.

Communication and service is appalling, they tell you one price and then seem to pick a figure out the air to bill you!!

Avoid at all costs, will never use again! Use HSW in Crewe or Nantwich instead, great service and don’t rip you off.

This was a painful experience from start to finish. The solicitor assigned to handle our case was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable at first but, to the frustration of all other parties involved in this seemingly straight forward property purchase the case didn't progress. After 16 very long weeks the transaction fell through. Obviously due to to Covid situation we were patient and would have accepted slight delays in the process. However,Staff were unprofessional and rude, access to the solicitor was extremely limited and communication extremely poor.

We are now going through the internal complaints process and hope their systems (and attitudes to clients) may change.
Despite lots of glowing reviews through these types of sites I would recommend further due diligence. legalombudsman.org.uk has the facility to look at number of times the legal ombudsmen has had to intervene and shows the number of decisions and when an intervention has been required. Poole Alcock are on the first page by volume.
