Requested basic conveyancing work for a first property. CP Law agreed to take on the case and requested money for searches. The next thing I hear from the sellers is that there have been no enquiries, and this is now three weeks later. On engaging CP Law they told me to be patient, but admitted that they had not even ordered the searches yet (albeit having received my payment weeks before). I said I was happy to do this but needed them to take timely action so we didn’t lose the property. They followed this up by not communicating with the sellers’ solicitors even though they had received the contract weeks before. I reached out again, somewhat incensed and concerned that I would lose our dream property due to something completely out of our hands. CP Law then incredulously told us that they didn’t like the tone of our message and that they were not prepared to deviate from their usual (obviously very slow) methods. Since this incident I have switched solicitors and have immediately seen improvement in communication and efficiency. I would avoid at all costs, unless you don’t have a time limit, and enjoy being patronised.

I have just cancelled my instruction due to lack of communication from Amanda and a failure, despite repeated requests, for an estimated completion date on the purchase of my property. Poor.

I cannot recommend Charles Platel Solicitors enough. They offer a very personal and professional service - and are always at hand to assist. Once again, a very big thank you to everyone there for all your help!

I was contacted as part of an annual review of the Wills held by Charles Platel, as they had realised (un-beknown to me) that part of my Will needed to be altered because legislation had been changed. This was done efficiently and professionally by David Roper with the minimum of fuss, and whilst so doing gave me the opportunity of updating my Will whilst so doing. Excellent service.

Amanda dealt with the sale of our home, the whole sale was managed via the telephone and email, communication was efficient and effective. We always knew where we were in the process.
