Well, these guys never ceased to amaze us with the degree of incompetence, lack of proactiveness and overall poor quality of service. Highlights of our 10-week ordeal from offer to exchange:

We had to call/email them around 20 times per day until they would pick up the phone and call the other's side lawyers to see where we are standing.

They had lost our proof of funds email, so while we were converging towards exchange we will be asked to re-deliver documents already submitted weeks ago. So instead of doing the required due diligence during all this period they will come up with questions about the sources of the funds at the last minute.

We received forms with mistakes that fortunately we noticed and then them corrected.

We were not given a time frame and a plan of what needs to be submitted and when. So after we send our deposit and we thought we can exchange we were told that one more document search is still pending.

I'm having a similar experience. gave me a quote, then decided the quote was wrong after I'd already signed up. very easy to lose paperwork you send them, don't want to do anything that may be considered 'work'. continually chasing them for anything. won't fight your corner. it was a last minute decision as the other party to the sale uses my oruiginal solicitor and they decided it was a conflict of interest to represent us both.
not very impressed really. wouldn't use them again unfortunately.

We are currently in the process of NOT completing on a property purchase due to a multitude of issues. Firstly the solicitor dealing with our transaction left the firm mid way through. Nobody at the firm felt it necessary to contact us or let us know what was going on. Following this a new solicitor was appointed, a junior requiring supervision. Deadlines for exchange have come and gone and the solicitors have failed to provide us with adequate updates around progress. The main switch board doesn't seem to work ( although I did call at 5.02 pm). I now think the transaction is dead but the Solicitor(both Senior and Junior) are not responding to any contact. They have played a key part in the failure to complete. I have used this firm for several other transactions and I have noticed a deterioration in service. I would not recommend them.
