AWFUL SERVICE I was asked to send a patient’s notes by recorded delivery. ‘This involved a 12 mile drive to the post office, a half hour wait Until they reopened after lunch. I then donned a mask & gloves & paid the fee which I requested they reimburse me Nothing forthcoming I have rung them twice & was told I would be rung back. Never happened. PLEASE learn by my mistake. NEVER SEND THIS BUNCH OF AMBULANCE CHASERS ANYTHING. Make the PARASITES pay for a courier !!

I wish I had not used Dental Law Partnership. I feel very hurt by DLP attitude, behaviour, delays, undelivered promises and lack of attention to details. I even had to correct various mistakes in the Letter of Claim draft DLP solicitor emailed me.

The first witness expert, an orthodontist, supported my claim, explained in his report how orthodontic treatment caused my chronic pain, and noted my distorted occlusion, asymmetrical canted teeth, not matching midlines, and other issues after the treatment. Letter of Claim was based on his report and records from 5 other dentists, who saw the connection between my pain, bite issues and orthodontic treatment. After Letter of Claim was submitted to the orthodontist’ defence organisation, DLP pushed me to travel from Guildford to Manchester to see a second expert, Mr G, under pretext that it would “affect amount of compensation” I would receive. Many of Mr G’s statements in his report for the court were not true, opposite to the evidence and looked prejudiced against me. F.e, orthodontic treatment damaged my teeth, and orthodontist already offered to pay for the remedial treatment, but Mr G stated that I damaged these teeth myself by grinding them! Mr G knew nothing about orthodontics but stated that orthodontics cannot cause jaw and muscle pain and TMD. DLP solicitor and director promised me to explain to Mr G why and where he was wrong, and find another expert for me if needed, but they did not. They paid Mr G £1200 for this report “on my behalf”, and let him verbally attack me for questioning his agenda and integrity at the telephone conference.

After offer of compensation was received in response to the Letter of Claim (based on the first expert's report and 5 other dentists), DLP stated that first expert changed his mind (which is not true), records from other specialists cannot be used, and if Mr G stated that orthodontics cannot cause jaw pain and TMD no other expert will provide different opinion and therefore I am not entitled to any compensation for my jaw pain. However, one year after dealing with my claim and telling me that orthodontics cannot cause jaw pain, DLP published an article in Telegraph stating that they won compensation for their client for the jaw pain after orthodontic treatment.

Interestingly, DLP made me accept the deal under condition that I would not be able to claim anything from the orthodontist in the future should my condition deteriorate.

I believe DLP under settled my claim. There are solicitors and dental specialists, who, unlike DLP and their second expert, know the problems that can be caused by unbalanced bite after orthodontic treatment, and they share this information on their websites.

I received legal advice that I can sue either DLP or expert witness, but the compensation I could receive would not cover legal fees.

I reported DLP to the Legal Ombudsman. DLP were fined.

BTW, When I complained to General Dental Council, it turned out that DLP's second expert, Mr G, was also not honest in his advertising.
