Outcome of SDT Hearing

This notification relates to a Decision to prosecute before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which reaches its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Respondent. The Tribunal had certified that there was a case to answer.

The matter was heard on 16 January 2018.

Mr. Naylor was suspended from practice as a solicitor for a period of two years to commence on 16 January 2018. The period of suspension is suspended for two years from the same date, subject to compliance with the terms of the Restriction Order imposing conditions on practice set out below.

Under the Restriction Order, Mr Naylor is subject to conditions on practice imposed by the Tribunal for a period of 2 years to commence on 16 January 2018. If Mr Naylor is found to have breached any of the conditions set out in paragraph (2) above during the period of 2 years under restriction, activation by the Tribunal of the period of suspension of 24 months will follow in addition to any sanction imposed for the breach of condition(s).
