Karen Ashton was fantastic dealing with the sale of my Aunt's property. Very Professional and kept me up to date and answered all my queries with easy to understand terminology. I would highly recommend and very reasonable.

Terrible. Solicitor assigned Victoria Clement, unreliable, never spoke, received email saying firm cant take on after Clare Dalby had made verbal agreement, delay of contract was suspicious. I suspect they are prejudiced about antipideans. Irrational. So guess she didnt like my accent.

No can not recommend this firm at all.

I would give this company a zero star if there's an option to do so. There is absolutely no transparency with their fee structure. The bills seem to be bottomless. I felt like I got scammed. They also emailed me about someone else's property that's not related to me. Really unprofessional. I am considering getting in touch with the Ombudsman.

Wace Morgan spent £70K on divorce case without telling their client.
A clarification.

On 16th September, I posted a commentary on this site with the above title. Wace Morgan have since contacted me to suggest that some readers may read the posting and interpreted it as an assertion that Wace Morgan have behaved illegally. It also appears that the web managers of this site have also removed the adverse review!! I cannot imagine why that should happen.

I wish to make it perfectly clear that Wace Morgan have behaved legally and ethically throughout; my assertion is that they have behaved unprofessionally and incompetently.

I do hope that this clears up any misunderstanding.

Making the simple more complex: a story of legal incompetence.

The divorced mother of 7 and a 10 year daughter wanted to amend her shared child care agreement to relocate herself and her children from Shrewsbury to a location near her work-base in North London; the father also works and lives in North London.

The father was contesting the relocation for reasons which were never made clear, other than his pathological desire for control over his ex-wife’s life.

A simple decision for a matter that went before the court, you would think!

However, the solicitor had advised the wife not to approach house vendors or potential schools as, in his view, the judge might find this action presumptive of the outcome of the hearing.

The judge had other views, however; he criticised the mother for not putting future home and schooling plans before the court. Fortunately, the mother had gone behind the solicitors back and acted against his advice. She was able to declare an offer accepted on a home and schooling plans at the hearing. The judge was still highly critical that these plans were not declared to the court before the day, and the father’s barrister made much of this, interpreting it as deception. The outcome hung in the balance; the judgement was held over for 3 days and the wife’s barrister believed she would lose.

So, not as simple a decision for the court as thought! Would you put that down to solicitor incompetence? Put yourself in the shoes of the judge.

The wife’s firm is Wace Morgan; the solicitor is Robert Adams.
