The worst Conveyancing solicitor ever, 5 month to complete, no communications what so ever, incompetent firm, simply awful and to top it all, had to pay more than what I was advised by Home Legal Direct.

This company doesnt deserve a star at all. They have continuously muddied the waters during the house sale/purchase. They have not carried out their work in a timely fashion. They have not communicated with anyone. I would suggest that the property side of this company, in my experience could and should only be described as charlatans. DO NOT USE THEM. IGNORE THE EXCELLENT REVIEWS!!!

As an experienced estate agent I would highly recommend everyone to avoid this firm for conveyancing. I have been trying to obtain a progress report for my client and have now left over 15 messages for a call back without any response.

Unfortunately the vendors of the house we’re (trying) to purchase have appointed Watkins and Gunn. The service has been appalling and we have been trying to proceed since May with no answers to emails, queries or phone calls. We’re ready to exchange but our solicitor has been unable to speak to anyone to arrange this! It is worrying how bad they are. Avoid at all costs!

I have had the misfortune of dealing with this firm on behalf of a seller. I have not yet been able to speak to the case handler and the matter has been proceeding since June. There are only two parties in the transaction. When I did receive a return call from a member of staff I was promised the file would be passed to a case handler and I would hear something. Still waiting!

Honestly, I sympathise anybody that decided to appoint Watkins & Gunn.

I've recently been unfortunate enough to experience the conveyancing department of Watkins & Gunn on behalf of a purchaser of one of our properties. From day one, they were slow and unresponsive and at times claimed to never receive paperwork and then went on to rediscover it. As it currently stands, their client is facing a complete fall through resulting in the loss of a significant sum of money, time and effort due to their actions and they couldn't care less.

"If you pay peanuts, you get Watkins & Gunn!"

One of the worst experiences dealing with this firm. Constant lies on when they will return calls and update you, and delayed my whole move through not being open and honest. Call centre based and on hold for an average of 40 minutes every time I would like to speak to someone. Have paid for a solicitor I have never been allowed to actually speak to - only call centre staff. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

We had our hopes up when we saw the good reviews online. However, from the start we had no contact with one person but with a team of people who wouldn't return our calls. They give you a solicitor's name at the beginning so you would think you will be in touch with only that person all the time. But we are one month in and we still haven't heard or had any contact whatsoever with that person. The paperwork the team has sent to us was outdated, with old laws being mentioned. Their first task was to send a letter to the seller's solicitor to confirm they had been instructed by us to proceed with the purchase. This should have taken a day or two, and it took three weeks, for no evident reason. In the letter our names were not even mentioned. This is how unprofessional they have been. Since then, we have tried to call them and get updates regularly to be sure they would do their work, but the line is always busy and they do not respond by email.

I rarely write badly of a company unless it is really necessary for other people to know.

A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT AND A TERRIBLE SERVICE.

Although I have legal Insurance which I could have used, Clive Thomas came highly recommended to me. I emailed Clive around 9.30pm initially detailing the issues I needed help with, I was rather surprised when I received a reply within 20 minutes and I thought he must be very committed to his work as he’s not your average 9 to 5pm solicitor. I am the type of person who ask many questions and get frustrated if I don’t receive any updates, however Clive continued to demonstrate his commitment to my case, and it’s no wonder, as I later found that Clive has won awards for his service and contributition to his profession. I did not receive any shock bills, it was exactly as stated from the outset. Clive did not give me any false expectations and I knew exactly where I stood from the beginning, as I say though I chose Clive because he clearly proved that he was willi to go that extra mile to assist me and I would have no hesitation recommending Watkin and Gunn and obviously from my experience would be asking for Clive’s expertise in the first instance. It was first class service at a reasonable price, and of course I was more than happy to have the outcome I was seeking.

Fairhill Solutions Ltd needed a local South Wales Solicitor to finalise the Tenancy at Will Agreement for the new premises. We used Sally Roberts at Watkins and Gunn who carefully negotiated all the terms to meet the mutual benefit of both Fairhill and landlord. We were extremely pleased that the negotiation were finalised and completed within two weeks.

Fairhill would definitely recommend Watkins & Gunn for their appreciation and consideration in meeting the business deadlines, and Sally Roberts in particular for her attention to detail and flexibility when working to such a tight timescale.

"I needed a local South Wales Solicitor and was recommended to use Clive Thomas at Watkins and Gunn. He helped to successfully resolve my employment issue, by listening to my concerns and explaining how and what the law could do to help. Clive listened, assured and assisted with all the procedures that occurred and with the support of Clive and his team it was happily resolved.

I cannot stress what a difference it made to have a solicitor who was both knowledgeable and considerate to help resolve my issues during what was a very stressful time.

I cannot thank Clive enough for his assistance and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Watkins & Gunn in the future."
