Don't be fooled by any 5 star reviews that come up Immediately after this complaint. My mum was dying of cancer and wanted everything in place to avoid further stress for the family. Unfortunately she made wayman and long sole executors on behalf of the beneficiaries. They would not allow us in or on her property which led to her grade 2 listed property with once breathtaking gardens to become damp and neglected. Their bill, listed as cost and disbursements, was £39,094.65. My mother died in 2017 and they still retain part of the estate. I wrote my initial 1 star review in 2020 and they subsequently wrote to me demanding I take it down or they would take me to court. Since then our family have won an award from the SRA for the overcharge but this took many months to recover (they took a further 4 months to pay this back). This is solely my own personal review and experience of wayman.

Acted as executor to my late mother. Complaint to the ombudsman for over charging and incorrectly calculating fees was upheld and remedy of £10,443.64 awarded. Took them 9 months to pay it. Under the freedom of information act I have been given a list of 12 other complaints, of which 10 fall under wills and probate. The total awards amount to over £30,000.
Settled my mothers estate 4 years ago and retained part of the estate. Have repeatedly ignored all requests to return it.
Threatened my sister with court action unless she withdrew her review.

Terrible 4 years on not settled and no response from this solicitor. They take your money and ghost you. They don't even respond to the legal ombudsman. Avoid at all cost, not sure how the keep open.
