We used Julie to help with the purchase of our property in 2019. I would definitely recommend checking the reviews, before you decide to proceed with Ansons. Unfortunately we didn’t do this and definitely regretted it.
We found the service to be very unprofessional and it almost seemed like she didn’t even want the sale to go through. She almost seemed annoyed when we asked for advice and kept redirecting us back to the estate agents. Lack of support the whole way through and very poor and rather rude communication skills. I was appalled by the manner we were spoken to. For anybody considering Ansons definitely avoid and continue your search elsewhere.

I would not recommend Elaine Durkin to anyone, deliberate delay tactics almost that almost cost me a purchase almost leads me to believe she is incompetent at her job.

Very disappointing service for a number of reasons.
I felt that the client’s needs were not important which was evidenced by their unwillingness to think outside the box on allowing my parents to attend meetings with me whilst purchasing my first home but they were providing the funds. The Law Society does not categorically state this is not an option but something that has to be considered carefully to avoid conflicts of interest. There was no consideration whatsoever.
Definitely a post box service where no advice was given that was of any use and I could have done the same job myself or used an on line conveyancing service in terms of the searches.
Poor attention to detail. I had to point out errors in the communication which from a solicitor is worrying as their precision should be paramount.
Lack of flexibility. I had chosen a local solicitor as it was felt they would know the area better than a Birmingham based solicitor. They didn’t. In fact, I was charged an additional £200 due to the property being freehold subject to a management charge when anybody who knows the area would know this was the case and should have included this within their original quotation. In addition, they were unable to operate flexible hours for the purposes of a meeting or signing contracts and suggested I take a days holiday!!
When complaints were escalated to one of the Directors, they were dismissive, said that in their experience they had never known a first time buyer need a parent attend a meeting with them and said that she believed Ansons had adhered to their usual high standards of customer service. !! In my opinion, with the quality of advice that was provided it was fortunate that I had advice/support from my parents during the process as meaningful guidance was certainly not provided by Ansons. As far as Ansons comments about their high standards is concerned , my opinion is that customer service is judged best by the customer on the receiving end.
My overall conclusion is I will not use or recommend Ansons again.

I’ve just contacted them with an enquiry and found them very unhelpful and dismissive! Wish I’d read reviews before bothering to waste my time speaking to them!

Terrible. We used Ansons in 2015 for the purpose of conveyancing and were left with no fixed abode due to the lazy service. However, they did take all monies owed before raising any concern. We complained to the legal ombudsman who found fault despite their lies about what was verbally communicated but they refused to refund any fees. Avoid!!
