Best price I could find to sell our house. Replied to emails within 24 hours. But there was always the option to telephone, and I always got through to someone who could help. They were always one step ahead of the purchaser's solicitors. They phoned me in Germany to advise of delay when the Nat West Computer crashed. Would recommend.

I would certainly recommend and use Arc solicitors again for my conveyancing, after an initial sale, the first buyer pulled out, and so although everything had to be re-done, Arc were brilliant, and of course they advertise 'no sale no fee' so when we completed for the second buyer, their fees remained the same as quoted, and I must say were really good value anyway. Many Thanks in particular to Andrea Honeybone there who dealt with my sale.

I have just completed what turned out to be a complicated Leasehold Sale with the assistance of my Solicitor Amanda Fish.

I was dubious about using an online Solicitor as I have heard the horror stories about communication and the world becoming ruled by computers but ithin a day of instructing Arc Amanda was on the phone to me giving me a list of things she needed from me to get moving and providing me with an overall process review of what she would be doing.

It transpired during the sale that the Solicitor who acted on my purchase originally failed to advise me of what the conditions were attached to the lease for the terms. Amanda talked me through what we could do to move onwards and even though it delayed the sale by a week we ended up reaching a successful completion.

I would recommend Arc to all and would highly rate Ms Fish

ARC property solicitors gave me a good service. It was a straightforward conveyancing. I got in touch with them through a search on an online comparison website. They price matched a lower quote I received, but then had to charge a little extra for another property search document. Altogether it was £290.
I was given a dedicated conveyancer and she kept in email contact, keeping me informed at every step. I sent all the documents back as email attachments, except for one that needed a real signature and witness. She called on the phone on a couple of occasions too.
If you decide to use them, please be aware that it is very difficult to get hold of anyone on the phone, the only negative point. However, emails are responded to promptly and questions are answered in full.
I would recommend these solicitors wholeheartedly and I was very pleased with their service.

Service was really bad to start with. No replies to any of the emails or telephone messages. No updates provided on the purchase process.
This did however improve when my case was taken over by someone else. Once this had happened we were able to complete the purchase within 2-3 weeks.

The service provided by Charlotte was exceptional. She kept me informed of progress every step of the way - and when things got difficult due to external circumstances she pulled out all the stops and got everything sorted for us. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Cost wise they were very competitive with other online solicitors we got quotes from.

I found Arc very efficient and helpful during the sale of my property. Giovanna Gravante was particularly reassuring and knowledgeable and a real pleasure to talk to. As a company they were very easy to get hold of by phone and to get information from. I also found that they responded to my e-mails quickly too. I was impressed with their team system with a second unit dealing with the non-legal element (ie the progression of the sale to exchange and then on to completion). One caveat would be that my sale was pretty straightforward and I was not buying anywhere, but nevertheless my experience was 100% positive .

This, our first experience with ARC, relates to the relatively straight forward sale of a registered, non- mortgaged freehold property (without a long chain of purchasers).

We found ARC on the web and wanted to avoid the high costs of traditional solicitors.
We did so with limited research and some 'first time' initial reservations.

Notwithstanding some of the reviews, we had a completely trouble free experience.
In fact the performance of the buyers solicitor by comparison was a good deal less polished.

Documents were sent to us by email attachment with clear instructions and our appointed conveyancer (Melanie French) dealt with email and telephone issues/concerns swiftly and effectively.

The receipt and onward transfer of legal documents was speedy and professional.

We were kept informed and up to date throughout (a good deal more then in our previous sale/purchase experiences). Often with simple and quick courtesy calls and/or emails.

Queries from the other party were resolved without delay and the final exchange and completion took effect in accordance with our wishes and instructions.

We opted for BACs payment rather than a speedier transfer of funds (at extra cost) and these arrived into our account within two days.

The actual cost of the provided 'excellent' service was as advertised and agreed and remarkably cheaper than the traditional alternative. With the added bonus of No Sale - No Fee (beyond a £10 deposit).

Buying and selling property can be a challenging experience at the best of times and glitches/delays will occur for all kinds of reasons.

Perhaps we were lucky this time but we'll be going back to ARC next time.

Service overall rate is Exceptional.
Communication was clear, concise and prompt. Documentation effective and transfers speedy. Queries dealt with promptly. Never felt 'out of touch' as could be anticpated dealing with a 'non local' company.
Cost was extremely competative.
Would recommend ARC to anyone selling property.
Can not comment on service for purchase but I would certainly give them a go given the service I received on a sale only!

I found the pricing competitive and although initially there were a few (very minor) communication problems I found the entire team to be professional, informative and on the ball. They reported back every step of the way and I didn't have to chase them for information. All instructions were clear and Giovanna and Brian were excellent. I would definitely use them again.

Arc managed the purchase of our property in approximately 4 weeks which prevented us from losing the property as the vendor was going to pull out if it was not completed by 31st March. While I was occassionally unable to get in touch with my conveyancor Giovanna Gravante and I did have to push things along by ringing and emailing alot she always got back to me and was polite and professional. Overall I feel I was provided a good service at a reasonable price and would recomend them to others.

The cost was cheap and you get what you pay for. Arc made several errors (wrong name on transfer, wrong price on contract, wrong information on TR1 form as to mode of ownership), and in some cases even repeated the errors in subsequent documents despite them being pointed out. We did, however, complete on time so they came good in the end. I would not use their service again however.

Hi, this is belated I know, but I've just been reading what a kicking this firm have had and cannot see how it is possibly the same firm I used. I used Arc Property Solicitors for my sale and purchase and even over Christmas, we still completed in 9 weeks (remember there is a two week break over Christmas, so that makes it 7 weeks). There were problems with our purchasers, they had cash buyers and didn't want to pay for searches till they knew searches had been instructed on theirs (they never were and they were only applied for the searches on my house when they were given a week to complete) and our vendors didn't submit their sellers pack for 2 whole weeks, thus delaying my purchase. I had a lovely lady called Jennifer Turner, who was really fantastic, she responded to emails quickly, returned my calls and when I asked her what I could do to speed things up, she offered me good advice. We could have actually completed before Christmas, except our purchaser hadn't had his searches in and our vendor (despite not living in the place) refused to complete. I spoke to all estate agents and solicitors myself, which may be time consuming, but it meant I knew exactly what was happening and I completely believe that any problems was due to our purchaser (from speaking to him and also my estate agent) and from the estate agent of my vendor.

If I was to move again, I would use them, I would recommend them to anyone as they were far cheaper and were far better than other conveyancers I have used previously (Never use Countrywide Property Solicitors - 8 months to buy an empty house as a first time buyer!!!!). My buyers used these solicitiors (Samaira).
Shocking, shocking, shocking service. So astoundingly bad that we have had to threaten pulling out and charging rent for the amount of time it is taking to exchange. Plus she refuses to talk on the phone, is rude to our solicitor and never provide updates or explanations. Not proactive at all and have absolutely no consideration for either parties. She promised to exchange on Tuesday and still hasn't called our solicitor tp explain the delay!
Use them at your peril!

Brilliant value for money, much cheaper than any local solicitors the area. Our file handler was Giovanna, she was our very helpful and professional.

Everything is done by email so this is brilliant if you are at work and can't always take calls, it is also great to record what has been said etc.

For the price I would definitely recommend Arc Solicitors, a lot of people have put bad reviews on which is unfortunate, although we were cash buyers in a no chain sale so things could of been different if it was a more complicated purchase.

My vendor is using this firm (Matt Dickenson). It took a month from being informed by the estate agent of the sale to send a draft contract to my solicitor and even then the sale price was incorrect. A standard contract for sale is pretty routine and it should not take longer than a week to get one issued and such basic informaiton as the sale price should be correct. It does make one wonder about the lack of professionalism of the "Associate Legal Director" when you add to this such basics as signing off a letter with "Yours Sincerely", yes a capital S, when the letter started with "Dear Sirs". Basic English.

I guess I have learnt my lesson and will not pay for such a cheap service again. The online client access information was never completed so how can they offer online tracking???

I was asked to search for pointless information which they should have told my buyer's solicitor was unnecessary or that they could have searched for themselves.

I negotiated an exchange and completion date with one solicitor, to then be rung by another one a few days later who denied all knowledge of the date agreed. This held up completion by a week.

I had to ask 2 weeks after completion for a completion statement - it was emailed to me promptly but looking at the date on it, it was obvious it should have been posted to me a couple of days after completion.

On a positive and why I have given them 3 stars - despite the delay over completion, the whole sale process did move quite quick.

I don't blame individual members of staff - I think the organisation needs to look at what it promises.

I - like many others on this site - opted for Arc to handle the conveyancing on the sale of my flat and purchase of another one based on their very competitive quote. I did Google them but no bad reviews came up.

After a few weeks I started to receive very frustrated calls from my estate agents saying that the draft contract hadn't been sent to my buyers' solicitors despite being told last week that it would be sent the following day.

She advised me in very strong terms to change solicitors based on her experience to date with Arc. She said it is very unusual for a draft contract to take a week to be sent, it should take a couple of hours.

Feeling concerned I then spent more time looking for reviews on the internet and came across this site - I'm so glad I did. The positive ones are clearly fake, only a moron would believe such transparent BS!!

I can sense the pain and frustration through the negative ones and I AM VERY GRATEFUL TO YOU ALL FOR POSTING.

I am changing solicitors now as moving house is stressful enough. I don't want months of misery for the sake of saving a few hundred pounds. And I do not want my buyers to drop out due to the conveyancing taking too long! This is where the internet is hugely valuable.

BEWARE AND DON'T BELIEVE THE BS IN THE FAKE REVIEWS!!

I would reccomend due to their reasonable rate, however there were a few occaisions where there seemed to be mis-communication between the parties. Whether this was down to ARC solicitors or the sellers' solicitors I am not sure. The solicitors were however helpful on the major part.

Previously left a comment on 09/08/2011 about the poor service I received, but hang on, it gets worse.

So recently I received a letter from HMRC advising that I need to pay stamp duty but as I'm a first time buyer this didn't apply to me. I clearly stated this to the solicitors and they assured me that this would be taken care of at the time. Obviously not!
I got in touch with them and requested them to look into this and all I got was 'we are dealing with this' and never heard anything back. Two weeks later I received another letter demanding the stamp duty to be paid from HMRC. I have since emailed them again and heard nothing back . . .
The whole process has taken approx 6 months and still on going. Unacceptable!

Maybe focus on fully completing a case before taking on more clients.

Positive: Everything done by email, reasonable price.

Negative: Difficult to talk to your solicitor by phone (the phone number given to clients is difficult to get through, have to listen to the music for a looooooong time. Not very clear instruction for documents signed and sent. We were told on the early morning of the very last (and the same date of completion) that the completion could not be done because they had not been given enough time! But the completion date was agreed more than two months before the completion date!

I used Arc for the Sale of my house. I know by reading some of the posts that people are keen to express their disappointment with Arc, but to be honest, which Solicitor firm doesn't have it's flaws??? My Solicitor worked hard on my file, and when she was off ill, it was taken up by someone else who carried on the work. I know for a fact through my network of contacts and spies, that these guys (the ones who actually do the work) work hard and do care about their clients, but sadly they are overworked and underpaid.

Was not pleased with the service received. I should done my own research before using Arc.

Started of well but then all downhill from there.

The client access area is pointless because the information Arc held about the property I was purchasing was incorrect. After advising them of this it still wasn't updated. Even after completion its still incomplete and incorrect. why have a client access area?

I would have email the case handler 3-4 times on some occasions before I actually heard anything back. Even then emails received back were not informative.

Process seem unorganised because often Arc would advise me they are waiting for hear from the estate agent or mortgage lenders when in fact it was the other way round, hence delaying the process further.

Just glad its all over.

Do your own research before using and all will become clear!

Truly shocked by the way this conveyancing firm operate. I deal with conveyancing solicitors on a day to day basis and I have found this firm incompetant, unreliable, slow and totally impossible to contact. If you wish to be treated like another sardine in a can then go to these solicitors and expect your projected exchange and completion of your transaction to be delayed by a number of months. I would strongly suggest using other firms where you can actually communicate to a real person as this will help get your deal through.

These guys are an absolute joke, there is no reason why anyone should use them. If you are on a budget, there are a number of firms that provide better.

Avoid at all costs.

This is THE worst firm of solicitors i have ever dealt with and i deal with 100's and 100's of firms per year. i am an estate agent of 20 years and whilst a lot of solicitors don't wish to take our calls regarding ongoing tranactions these guys go beyond that. the way they spoke to their client and myself was bordering on abusive! It seems that simple enquiries take an incredible amount of time to answer and for their client to ask for something to be expedited is an afront to the solictor dealing with it. its sheer laziness and rudeness and people may wonder how they are still in business. i'll tell you how: the new business side of the firm is actually highly friendly and proffessional (and cheap - you get what you pay for!). However, that is where the good business practice ends. once they have you signed up you are completely unimportant and a hinderance. i know this because i called them posing as a prospective new client just to see how so many people are duped into instructing them. My advice in selecting your solictor would be not to go for the cheapest but to read sites like these and take advice from those who have actually experienced the service of the particular firm rather than listen to the employee who is trying to promote and sell the service.

the worse company I ever had to deal with in my life.After 4 months since i instructed them with my purchase and sale I had to change to local company as there was almost nothing done.I know if I would not choose ARCS I could move within 6 weeks not 16. Waste of time!!!! Lack of respect to clients!!!! Big lies all the time!!!! The person who was responsible for my cases was R.Hussain - be ware

My buyers are using this firm - they are terrible, appaulingly slow, did not even start searches till week 3 or 4 we are now in week 9 and still waiting for confirmation of a completion date - I would not recommend them to anyone and if I could give them zero stars I would!

I was very disappointed with the service I received. I wasn't kept up to date with what was going on and the completion date was 3 weeks later than expected, which caused me a lot of problems. I would never use them again.

I just recently sold my property with Amanda Fish of ARC Property Solicitors and what a brilliant young lady she was.

One minute I instructed, the next answered a few enquiries, chased my lender for a redemption statement and then signed documents and we completed.

I love the fact that I didn't have to chase Amanda and speak to her all the time as she emailed me back within hours of asking her questions

Very efficient and will use again

stay well clear. No communication, unprofessional, Rahala Hussein did nothing and woudl never return calls. Complaint lodged with Legal Ombudsman . I am suspicious of all the good reviews on this site as I saw no evidence of this level of service people are raving about. My advice is use at yoru peril!

I acted on the other side of Arc Properties. They do not reply to telephone messages or emails and you only actually get a response when you email the managing partner. My clients instructed me in February and it has taken until May to exchange and completion. I would say that you get what you pay for.

I have just completed our purchase with the help of Amanda Fish who is a delightful young lady who is not afraid to tell the truth and in this day and age I think this is important.

I was orignally with the case handler Matt Jowett but due to an internal restructure I was moved over to Amanda. I was not overally happy with the service provided at the start of the matter but as soon as Amanda came into the picture the matter turned around. She took the time to tell me about the changes that were happening and explained she had taken over the file and many others and she would do all she could to stay on top of the transaction in order to meet our required completion date.

I myself are a demanding and impatient person but I was left impressed with the updates given and all of a sudden we were completing.

Amanda is such a credit to Arc and I am glad she ended up working on our matter

appaling from start to finish. No communication, difficult to get hold of and when you do, someone will only tell you what they think you want to hear. Dealing with this company made me very ill due to the stress of lack of communication and action. Eventaully after lodging a complaint with the legal ombudsman we did eventaully see this through. My advice is to stay well clear.

Horrible service, after the initial contacts to define price and service it was virtually impossible to get in touch with them. Replies to emails took more than a week in some cases and no one ever replied to the phone. At the end I had to switch to a different solicitor.
I DO NOT recommend Arc Property to anyone who wants to get their case closed in a reasonable time.

We have just completed on our sale and purchase and are delighted with the work done on our transactions.
To begin with we were extremely concerned by the effort made by our case handler Jennifer, however our new conveyancer Amanda Fish took over our transaction and within 11 working days reviewed the file and turned everything around so that we could exchange. Amanda was of the upmost professional standard as I can only imagine how stressful it was for her to take over our file as well as deal with ones she already had. We were able to talk to Amanda and discuss matters and she was really nice and made complicated issues more understandable and if she was ever unable to return a call on the day she would email me an update and then follow it up with a call as soon as she had chance.
I would recommend Arc to any of my friends and Amanda is an absolute star

Quite cheap quote. Worst service I have ever received. Long delays for no reason, lack of communication, refusal to call me back. 7 weeks in to what should have been an 8 week process I have had to move my case to a responsible, professional and able provider. I would not recommend this firm to anybody. As a trained solicitor myself I can only express amazement that this company is allowed to represent itself as a reputable firm. The danger of the internet laid bare for all to see - I assume most of the reviews on this and other websites are bogus. I don't see how a competent firm could provide such bad service in one part (and bearing in mind I had 2 different case handlers - Giovanna Gravante then Rahala Hussein) and then be amazing everywhere else. BEWARE

I have just finished my third property transcation with my solicitor Amanda Fish, who I find is a complete star in dealing with matters.

Once again I am extremely happy with the service provided by and would highly recommend anyone to use Arc.

I am now looking for a fourth property to purchase and will of course reinstruct Amanda on this matter as soon as I find a place.

My case handler was Giovanna and the service was excellent.

I was always kept informed and up to date with progress and all the hassle was taken out of the transactions when queries arose because of the proactive service.

I would definitely use ARC again based upon the service delivered by Giovanna.

Their service was awful. Our property should have took around 7 weeks to complete. It actually took a few days short of 4 months to complete! After two months of hearing nothing we phoned up to find out how it was progressing and we were told the solicitor dealing with it was too busy to deal with it and they would have to put another one on it. Two months of them sitting on the paperwork and no progress. Unbelievable. After the sale went through we were then left a service charge debt of 150 pounds from the previous owner which ARC had not bothered to check for. Numerous calls were then made to the solicitor in charge; (Mathew Jowett). He ignored every one and never returned any. A complaint was made to the part owner; (Raj Ali), who promised a reply within 28 days; he never did. A complaint was then sent to the manager (Katie Allport), who promised a reply within 14 days; she never did. As a last resort I have now had to involve the Legal Ombudsman who are now in the process of investigating this company, in the meantime I have now owned this property for over 8 months and I am still owed this 150 pounds from them. They have also lost paperwork I have sent to them previously, which for a firm of UK solicitors is very worrying. Buying or selling houses is a very stressful time and you do not want to pile more misery on to your purchase by involving this company. The only thing I can say in this company's defence; (a very small consolation), is that their price was good.

Arc Solicitors were the cheapest quote i had out of 6 or seven. From instucting them to act for me to completion they were excellent in everyway. Amanda Fish made everything so easy and not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing conveyancing.

Very reasonable charges in comparison to come local solicitors. All done very quickly and efficiently. My mum was selling at the same time and her house took 3 times as long. No need for endless phonecalls or visits - on line conveyancing is the future - would highly recommend Arc Property Solicitors especially Amanda Fish my conveyancer - THANK YOU x

I wouldn't be able to find a negative thing to say about Arc. The solicitor that I have used and have just instructed again is Samaira, she is fast, efficient, informative and professional. I would strongly recommend her.
Previously I have been disappointed by solicitors, they are generally slow and expensive, Arc are the opposite, they are very fast and efficient and yet they are very reasonable.

Outstanding service. Liked the fact that they contacted me by email most of the time which meant I could check during lunch etc and didn;t need to go to their office either to sign up. When I phoned they were always helpful. I couldn't always get to speak to my conveyancer but that didn;t matter so much to me anyway as things were always done as I wanted them to be. The price was as quoted so very happy all round really.

I would recomend this service to others. Good overall service, they delivered all they promised to the time frame agreed.
Communication not great at first, and I complained about this but following my complaint all contact picked up.
Very good and reliable service overall, very pleased I would definitely use the service again. They told me it was possible to reclaim part of the stamp duty, and sure enough 2 weeks after completion a check for just under £1K arrived. Thanks...!

I did like the service, my solicitor was very thourough, and although i was in the midst of a complicated purchase, i felt as ease that my solicitors did what the could to chase up information, and still be thourough.
The only suggestion i would say, is that i appreciate that solicitors are busy, but to have more time with the solicitor, rather than although evry helpful people, just reading the screens as to what was happening, its not always you can get to a compuetr screen, so e-mailig is not alwasy the best option.
All round fantastic service.

The service was outstanding. most contact was via email which suited me very well and everything was clear and responses to any queries were prompt. Phone calls were either put through immediately to our conveyancer or he returned them very quickly. I always read papers that were emailed through carefully and when corrections were pointed out these were done and emailed back within hours. Due to being on holiday and problems at the vendors end Arc had to exchange and complete at the same time on our behalf - this went without a hitch. Service went beyond expectations as other family members were coopted in to help while we were away and Arc kept in contact with them as well. The initial quote seemed almost too good to be true at 1/4 of a local solicitors quote but was the amount we paid. Our assigned associate was Matthew Jowett and he served us exceptionally well. The only difficulty was that the accent of the receptionist was quite difficult for a southerner but that did not hinder communication!

Initially we were slightly sceptical about using an on line service for our conveyancing, our main concern being how effective contact by e-mail would be. Since then we have been delighted by the prompt and attentive service provided by Adam Chowdhury, the solicitor appointed to our case. Unforeseen issues which made the conveyancing much more complicated than expected were dealt with in an extremely efficient and competent manner, giving us every confidence along the way. We were also very pleased with the fee incurred, which we thought very reasonable for the service provided. We would certainly have no hesitation in using Arc again, or recommending them to others.

I am 3/4 way through buying and selling property. This firm are very resaonable in terms of price (far cheaper than any other I tried), and so far have proved themselves to be professional, hard-working and conscientious. I can always get speak to my solicitor (or his assistant) when I need to, and he usually returns my emails immediately. I can recommend them very highly.
