07/09/21 - Reviewed by Entirely focussed on padding their bill

Firm was appointed based on a meeting with a solicitor who was subsequently unavailable to handle the matter. Her replacement was a poor substitute. We were charged for the handover process although not requested by us. Although they conducted themselves very professionally, they were largely ineffective. Constantly deferred to the barristers opinion. Proposed a complete change of strategy on several occasions. Appeared primarily focussed on increasing their billable hours with what in hindsight appears to have been unnecessary make-work. Offered a 'fixed fee' at different stages that was always exceeded.

Dear Kevin

We are really sorry to hear you feel this way and would welcome an opportunity to discuss your issues in further detail, dealing very briefly with some of the points.

We only ever change fee earners on a case if the original fee earner is on maternity leave, sick leave or resigns and we would never charge a client for the handover process.

We only ever instruct barristers where their skills will add to the service our clients receive.

Strategies do sometimes have to change dependent on the case but again this is always carefully thought out and explained clearly to clients.

We are entirely focused on exceeding client expectations and ensuring all clients are fully updated on costs at all stages so there are never any nasty surprises.

Please do contact us to discuss your matter in further detail.
