General Legal advice

I was engaged by Bower Bailey in my capacity as a freeholder in connection with a property completion. While I was not their client directly, the experience of dealing with them — and David Martin specifically — was disappointing.
On the surface, David Martin came across as personable and engaging. However, there was a significant gap between that impression and the reality. I had clearly communicated my travel plans and likely unavailability well in advance, specifically so that any requirements could be identified and resolved before my departure. That communication was not acted upon.
Instead, I found myself being contacted urgently while travelling in remote locations across the South Pacific, and on my return received pointed emails implying I was responsible for delays — despite having done everything I could to flag my situation ahead of time. Rather than proactively managing the matter, the approach was reactive and, at times, felt passive aggressive.
A good solicitor listens, anticipates, and acts. In my experience, that was not the standard on display here. I felt blamed for shortcomings that were not of my making.
I would not recommend Bower Bailey based on this experience.

Rude. Unhelpful. Unprofessional. I would definitely not recommend Bower and Bailey of Swindon.
