They made so many mistakes and charged me for time responding to their complaints to them. Then charged another £1000 for reading the emails telling them about all the mistakes and total lack of any positive progression. When I’d had enough I complained their complaints procedure took me to the incompetent solicitor dealing with my case. They have finally been found guilty of their fake review scam on trust pilot who have at last removed them leaving a 2.1 score which is more representative.

Britton and Time charged £36,000 for their services as executors of a simple estate. This figure did not include any of the disbursements, or conveyancing (all up, total expenses were £49,000). To put it into context, this was for an estate consisting of a one bedroom flat, three bank accounts and some shares, net value just over £200,000. Ordinary executor fees are 1.5% - 6% (for complicated cases). This was a very simple estate (as attested to by two other legal firms), so the fees ought to have been around 3-4% of total value. Britton and Time’s fees? 18%.
An executor of an estate is supposed to be acting in the best interests of the beneficiaries, to maximise the distribution. In this case Britton and Time appeared to be acting only in their own interests, dragging out the process to maximise the fees they could charge (it took 2 months shy of two years for them to complete). I have a litany of other issues with them, including lack of communication, unprofessional behaviour, threats to withhold funds from beneficiaries etc etc, but the overcharging is the one that really sticks. Please do not use this firm.

Service ineffective, bills piled up without client instructions, appeals are a waste of time to their firm, hence report to Ombudsman and SRA, if no reasonable agreement reached

The service was awful, poor communication, many mistakes made they did not seem to read the information given and then I am charged for their mistakes. When I asked to leave they charged me a large amount for the correspondence me while trying to leave them and give them the reasons why Ineeded to leave them. The complaints procedure prompted me to repeat my complaints to the complaints manager which was the solicitor I was complaining about. They then threatened to take me to court if I did not pay the excess amount they added on at the end. Horrible experience especially when you are in a vulnerable position. If you google 'Britton and Time reviews' Trustpilot have removed all of their fake reviews which they now have a reputation for but the site reviewsolicitors comes up first the domain is owned by Paul Britton himself.

All that the others have said is true. Shockingly incompetent. Making mistakes and overcharging. If you complain they will threaten you if you dont pay. Do not use this company. The not only pay for fake reviews they own their own solicitor review site link to it and make it look genuine. They should not be practising.

Bills racked up. Charged for attendance when no court hearings or personal meetings took place. This firm only wants your money. Paul tends to say something and then be dishonest and lie in emails. Beware. The reviews on Google are fake

Absolutely shocking solicitors . charged us over £5000 for a party wall court case that we done all the work for . it was thrown out of court , then 3 months later billed us another £900 randomly for a counsel fee . I am currently seeking a counter claim as they sent a Court letter ! . Stay well clear guys . Sure there reviews are false . Obviously tough times for them, tucking their own customers up ! if you want to end up in court with your own solicitors . choose these guys !
