I use Cripps in 2015. Although there initial contact was professional, I found that during the course of my very expensive divorce and children case, their conviction to provide a levelled and satisfying result was not there. Following a meeting with their head of law he seemed arrogant and full of himself to a degree if I could, i would have stop using the company there and then. I have not entered my name as i feel there was levels of white privilege occurring with the legal team and the courts in East Sussex.

We've been saddled with this company by our developer (they were supposed to be paying the fees) and they are truly dreadful. They had months to sort out working with our mortgage company and didn't. Result is that we had to switch to another firm at the last minute. They had weeks to organise getting a cd in the post to the new solicitor. Result they didn't. Getting any response out of the paralegal has meant weeks of silence. And they still send random demands for fees for bank exchanges that never happened. They are an absolute shower who cause stress and a trail of mess. Reckon they've cost us an extra £2k in new legal fees and thousands of pounds worth of our own time. I would strongly urge anyone not to go near them even if your developer insists.

We have had the exact same experience, slow, unprofessional, unresponsive - avoid at all costs. They have likely cost us a house sale

Three years ago I dealt with Cripps while intending to sell my house.During the course of dealing with the Land Registry I found that my neighbour owned a small part of my garden due to past errors.
This problem was sorted out efficiently by the relevant department. I then withdrew the house from the market. Various correspondence took place during a three month period and I was happy that if I put the house on the market again then all the land details had been sorted out ready for a quick sale.
Now that I am ready to sell I telephoned Cripps to request access to the file and past correspondence.
I was surprised to find out that due to lack of storage space the file had been destroyed.....as it was only correspondence.
While I appreciate storage is expensive and limited Cripps did not have the courtesy to ask me to remove the file from storage or even advise me that they intended to scrap my file.
I know the Land Registry will have all the relevant details but other matters were included in that file.
I think this is absolutely inexcusable bearing in mind I have dealt with them for over 40 years.
Obviously they will not be acting for me in any future house sale.
I will find another solicitor to do the conveyancing.
