Lorraine and Evie have been nothing short of amazing during our house buying process. Nothing has been easy from start to finish however they have gone absolutely above and beyond to ensure that I was kept updated and in the loop at all times. They’ve kept me reassured and kept me sane throughout what has been the most stressful experience of my life, they’ve responded promptly and professionally throughout and have given me as a clueless first time buyer the best advice and suggestions they possibly could have. If I ever decide to put myself through the trauma of moving again, I will ensure to use Fisher Jones Greenwood again without a doubt. I unfortunately have nothing to compare it to, as I’m new to this process. However from what I’ve seen my friends and colleagues experience with solicitors and the house moving process; this firm have been amazing and always as I say, gone above and beyond. Thanks guys!

From start to finish FJG, Mike Theeman and his support team gave us absolute confidence in their conveyancing of our recent property move. In spite of the work pressures associated with Stamp Duty changes and Covid, Mike was always helpful and able to respond to our enquiries. We felt he went beyond our expectations and we would gladly recommend Mike Theeman at FJG to assist sellers and purchasers of residential property to use use their conveyancing skills. Thank you Mike.

I used this firm to complete conveyancing, when recently selling my property.
I unfortunately found the service provided very poor. Emails went unanswered, and communication about any updates were sparse. When calling to speak to the person dealing with my case, I was regularly told they weren't available. Instead I had to speak to rather blunt, unhelpful and sometimes rude staff. There were also errors when completing the sale.
Overall I would not recommend, and would definitely not use them again.

Thank you for your feedback. With the introduction of the unexpected stamp duty holiday last year and its’ end looming, all organisations undertaking conveyancing are under considerable pressure. All are working under difficult circumstances, including many from home and long hours. Many firms are no longer taking conveyancing work on. There are no more experienced staff to take on the work and those that are working, are working extremely hard to ensure that as many clients as possible achieve completion by 31st March 2021. That said, I apologise that your experience has been less than you had hoped but I am pleased that you were ones of the ones who completed prior to the stamp duty holiday finishing. If you have any further questions, please contact Kate Clark on email: kclark@fjg.co.uk.

I would highly recommend these Solictor’s, very caring, very professional and hard working. The solicitors I had for my case were very passionate about doing the best for me and my children couldn’t have asked for a better firm to have. I also recieved a lot of support and when I have needed them they have always returned my call within a few hours very happy with the service I received thanks to this company I can now move on in my life if I needed a Solictor in the future I would not use any over then these.

Very pleased to be buying a house. However the written communication is ridiculous. Our solicitor is easy to talk to on the phone and face to face (whilst her colleague is abrupt and rude and gives false information) but on email and on the attached letters it is a joke. The jargon, the over-complicated ways of saying simple things is amazing. It is discrimination to use language like that. After almost every email we have called to make sure we are following instructions. This should be a clue that we are not the problem, the language used. Write how you talk...it is more professional.

I totally and wholeheartedly confer with the other posters on this thread.
Terrible company especially in wills & probate areas. Reluctant to leave even one star.
The SMP of this firm is a dichotomy and one beggars belief how the gongs were dished out in 2018.
(I will add considerably more to this statement, in the very near future).
I would advise any in the strongest terms to stay well clear of this firm in the stated area.

Wouldn’t even give one star but had to put something. Cold. Money grabbing. Underhand tactics. They took far longer to deal with my mums estate and also doubled the estimated fee. The original solicitor retired, when he left he reassured me the estate was nearly complete and estimated cost was £2700 plus VAT. Then another solicitor who was a partner took over. They took another 7 months and the final bill was over £5000. FJG did not care and were very cold and calculating despite my many queries and complaints about time and amount being charged. Underhand tactics to scrape every last penny out of every account in my view. My advice would be avoid at all costs - it WILL cost you.

Sadly I felt that I wasn't important to Fisher Jones Greenwood LLP. I needed a letter writing which turned out to be an exclusivity agreement. They took 9 days to sort this out as the solicitor was on holiday and nobody covered her, then she took 4 days to come back with who needed to do this and then tried to charge me £750 plus VAT for one two page letter with the terms we provided in it. The solicitor who actually did it said he took 2 hours to do it, and he charges £210 plus VAT per hour and so the cost of £300 plus VAT was for the "paper" When I complained to him that I really felt that it was steep he said that it was because he had just been asked to do it today and I said but I asked 9 days ago. He then said he would charge me at his hourly rate which I felt was reasonable. When I got the bill for £630 and the timeline of costs which I had asked for. I said if you charge £210 plus VAT for 2 hours that is £410 plus VAT as it was only one letter with no changes. On looking further he had charged me £138 for the telephone call to complain about the cost. We didn't even discuss the letter or any legal contents in it, we only discussed how I felt upset he had charged so much. I feel that they didn't care about me as a client and that my business was not welcome to them. So I have taken the sale of my property and the further properties that I will be selling in the future to a solicitor that would be really working with me as a client and to a place where I am welcomed and valued. Never ever has a letter cost £750 plus for 2 pages which took "2" hours if that. I have used FJG in the past and they have been fine but I will never use them again. This is the Chelmsford Branch so beware.

Stay away if you want to keep your sanity.
They look professional but so unorganized underneath. They manage to make a simple non contested divorce with no joint assets cost over 9k.
My ex wife loves them as they were so disorganised her solicitor ran rings around them.
Shame I had to give them one star.

They say that a person has five main regrets in a life time. Definitely one of mine would be choosing FJG to handle my divorce and most financial remedies. Extremely disappointed would be an under statement .
After a lot of money in fees and I mean a lot the outcome was a court order that took the word ambiguity to another level. In short shoddy in my opinion. The loop holes were quickly picked up by the other side and it has left me with a life changing finacial shortfall . I made a comlex formal complaint covering a number of quite serious shortfalls . After seven weeks I received a reply with approximately five lines saying there was no merit in my complaint. By this time all my legal bills were paid and I was dumped.
I am in the process of making a formal complaint to the legal ombudsmen and law society as well as contacting a well known broard sheet news paper for advice . I expected better from a company that say they can handle complex cases. I did not mind paying the greater expense as I thought at the time that the representation would be of better quality . In my case this did not happen. Sadly I will never be in a position to 're coup the finacial loses in my lifetime. In fact my ex wife asked me to pass on a thank you to FIG. One positive ,,, the monthly bills arrive exactly on time

Wow, seems like it's a mirror image off my case. JW said she was expensive but the best and she would make sure I kept my home for my sons.
Her assistant did 99% of the work JW called many times asking questions already dealt with by her assistant who I must say was on the ball.
Two weeks before the hearing her assistant left (don't blame her) so Jane was pulled with work and working almost part time got to such a mess that the day before the hearing I spent over two hours helping her prepare the case.
In court it ws a circus, ex wife solicitors walked all over JW as she was so unorganized.
Kept my house as long as I paid 35k plus over 9k in legal costs so of course lost my house and joint care of my boys.
Stay away from FJG for family law!,

I am so glad I have read these reviews especially this one. OMG ,,really, Frankly I do not blame this person for making a complaint to the complaint body,
My daughter and son-in-law are divorcing and we have been considering various solicitors and reading reviews . There will always be someone that is unhappy but there are a lot of people unhappy with these people.
In fact, I think I will slip an FJG solicitors card in with my son-in-laws belongings.
Good luck with your complaint

A very poor service received (I used Fisher Jones Greenwood / FJG for a recent flat purchase). Their attention to detail was terrible, which is very concerning considering the importance of the work they were doing. Several errors were made by the firm, particularly in the run up to completion, which would have left me substantially out of pocket had I not noticed and flagged them up. When I subsequently complained, their response was dismissive, they were unwilling to take responsibility or offer any kind of apology for the sub-standard quality of service received, and I have been met with radio silence when trying to discuss the issue with them further. Best advice would be to avoid and go with an alternative firm.

To be honest Fisher Jones Greenwood was not my first choice of solicitor to help me acquire a commercial lease for my martial arts business. The solicitor I had chosen was already representing the landlord of the property and it was them who recommended me onto FJG. I'm so glad they did as Ellen Peterson couldn't do enough to assist me and did so with super efficiency. I will definitely stick with FJG and would highly recommend them. Thank you.
